A Hue of Blu

Captivating and powerful.
This book kept me hooked. It was a quick read, but very powerful. Blu gets in your head, in the best way possible.

a hue of blu
I enjoyed this book due to the fact I could get closure for something ongoing in my real life when the book ended. I love that the author offered an alternative ended (although I prefer the original) I was happy with the character development for the MFC and I was glad that she did not paint the MMC as the bad guy but gave both main characters positive and negative attributes but showed how one fully heals in the end. It was a snow storm with hot tea under a blanket kind of a read and when it was over I felt satisfied. I loved the friends for all the characters and the family and felt like the author did really well building different pov for so many personalities. My only criticism would have been at the beginning of the book the story was a bit dull learning about the characters past and present and wish the pages would have been dramatized with a wider range of vocabulary and descriptive words to make the boring parts come alive more.

There were some plot holes but it was still good and had some amazing quotes
The characters have relatable emotions but their lives are not relatable. The story discusses a multitude of themes and then just forgets about them, this is confusing because these real life issues the characters "have" cannot just disappear. That is physically impossible.

I’m crying
this book is so simplistic & so deep at the same time, i read this book in under 8 hrs partially because i was sneaking a read while on the clock but I couldn’t help myself. I truly enjoyed the emotions & the different povs from each main character it allows the reader to truly understand both of them. I enjoyed the ending it showed Beatrice’s want to move forward & heal, letting him back in at the exact moment he called when she was with Stacy would have halted her progress. After reading I do believe that they are a hue of each other but Beatrice chose to heal & reflect & Jace could only accept the love that he wanted in places that he couldn’t receive them, they are hues of each other tho, I truly appreciate the alternative ending I like to believe that Beatrice progressed & Jace matured & stopped taking Beatrice’s love for a “rainy day” & that they did restart the way that they “should” have but this time with more patience & interest on both ends, vulnerability, openness, & their hue of blue … sorry I had to, I love you Marie France Leger! Thank you for this book

incredible
This book is a must read! It perfectly captures the push and pull of toxic relationships. I couldn’t put this book down. I enjoyed this book because the points of view shifted between the 2 people in this relationship. You got to know both characters and went through the motions with them. This book is incredibly well written. I think this book is just as educational as it was enjoyable. The situations, circumstances, experiences, and feelings are all too real in day to day life. People could learn how to navigate these kinds of relationships and interactions from this book. READ THIS BOOK

4.5⭐️
Was this book the best writing I’ve ever read? No. But it is a 4.5 for me because i resonated with it so much. Jace and Blu were toxic from the beginning but had a connection they couldn’t deny. And even though they kept hurting each other they kept coming back for more. Two broken people trying to find love in a harsh world. One who wanted to be truly loved and one who just wanted to feel important to someone. I don’t think I’ve ever highlighted so many quotes in one book as i have with this one. Blu couldn’t understand why Jace kept coming back into her life when he knew he couldn’t love her how she deserved and he said “because you let me.” This was something that stuck with me because of my own past relationship and all the things i LET a man do to me. This book really put into perspective the difference of how men and woman work in relationships. Woman idealize the men they like so quickly and we fall in love with their potential so often and not who they actually are. And men tend to just get used to having a certain girl around even if they don’t really care for them or love them and then in turn don’t want to lose what they think they can’t live without because it’s become routine. This definitely isn’t the typical cute romance books i usually go for but it was so insightful and inspiring to finally pull yourself out of toxic situations and let your self heal from your traumas.

unexpected
This book really bothered me at the beginning. The concept of self discovery can be very triggering especially when you are currently working through your own journey. Blu is kind, loving, and guarded. She uses sarcasm and wit to deflect from all the pain and rejection she is feeling inside.Jace has no idea who he is or who he wants to be. He doesn’t understand how to express himself or his inner emotions because of the facade he created to mask all his insecurities. To read all the struggles to two had both together and apart was heartbreaking. But reading how Blu grows and truly becomes Beatrice, a woman who knows what she deserves, was empowering.

It was okay, not quite as expected
I almost dnfed the book, I hated the massive repetitive nature of it. It seems so toxic and not in a ok red flag I like ignoring it. I read it because it was compared to a book I adored and it didn't hit the same markers sadly.I did like how she chose herself in the end.

Meu Deus

so proud
Reading this book actually killed me. It was difficult for me but at the same time I couldn’t put it down. I found myself in both Jace and Blu, and that was incredibly difficult.I really enjoyed this book. If you struggle with mental health and want a story with a non traditional happy ending, this is the one for you. Please take the trigger warnings seriously, because while nothing is graphic like some other books, it’s incredibly real. It feels like the author read my diary at some points and then wrote a book about it.

Un libro emozionante che ti toglie il fiato. Personaggi veri e distrutti dalle circostanze della vita che cercano una felicità laddove non c'è ...

This left me confused but not in a bad way
First and foremost I think this book was interesting. Going into it I wasn’t sure what to expect, I think this book offers a unique perspective to the classic toxic relationships trope. The characters for the most part are quite fleshed out, and genuinely feel like real people navigating the world in the aftermath of trauma. I think this is one of those books that really embodies the message of hurt people hurt people. I genuinely enjoyed reading, there’s a real uncanny sense of realism that permeates the story and makes you feel as though these are your own lived experiences; and there is beauty in that vulnerability. If I’m being 100% honest there is a sort of exhaustive quality to the book, in that it is sort of draining to experience the constant highs and lows; but in a way that kind of works to the book’s advantage. The narrative is realistic and offers an alternative take to the conventional idea of a happy ending. The story offers a sense of genuine authenticity which I found incredibly charming. I do think that the topic of mental health could have been explored better and more in-depth within the storyline but ultimately it doesn’t seem as though that was what the author wanted us to focus on. In all fairness there are probably a few things that could be improved ; but in all honesty if you connect with the book and truly envelop yourself within the story you get drawn in, in such a way that is truly special. In conclusion I think this is one of those books that you’ll either like or you don’t it truly depends on you as a person. I believe this book is a gem that will speak to some and not to others and truly deserves some recognition.
