Excellent book!
The book is great, but it probably helps that the author is my professor for the class. Only problem is the price.......... they keep trying to get you to go to e-books, but I can't stand having a digital copy. If I need to find something, I flip through the pages or use the index like I was taught, I'll keep my real books.

As far as content goes its super easy to follow up until you get into multi-vector calculus

Lot of Fat, Little Meat
Reading this book you're going to need a highlighter. Key concepts and important information doesn't stand out from the rest of the text. There's a lot of text, and very few examples. Of these, many do not even use real numbers. The language used to explain concepts, and the author's choice of symbols, is tremendously confusing. Which is aggravating because the underlying concepts and the math is easy. The problems are not hard at all, but many times you may be asking yourself what exactly are they asking me to do?Finally, this book is ridiculously expensive for a small, soft-cover book. I didn't pay attention to the dimensions, page count, or cover when I bought it for class, and thought it was a mistake when I pulled it from the delivery box.

Difficultly vague on some concepts
This is my second course that deals with probability and so far I have found the book fairly challenging to understand. One thing that I should note is that the authors do not outright define that probability is generally the ratio of events to the sample space. Neither do they define cardinality or certain set algebra concepts. You get the basic fundamentals and are expected to work with it. While many in my class are struggling because they did not know these basic concepts, I have been flying through the initial problems due to a priori. In the later chapters when the author presents information that I do not already know, I am having a hard time trying to understand it. The most discouraging thing about the book is that the authors describe one process to solve a problem, but then use a completely different process in the solution manual. There should be in-depth explanations of when to use different methods, rather than to list the definitions and expect us to understand. I appreciate the work put into the book already, but more work needs to be done.

does not meet expectations for the price sold
Unfortunately this book does not promote the idea well enough. The concept of probability is really vaguely explained, yet the material has a lot of unnecessary parts when reading. Unfortunately this book is not well written for a student that is his first time taking statistics. I would recommend searching for another book because this one is poorly written and too expensive.
