Best Assassin's Creed yet!
At the time of writing this I have completed just over half the game, with a play time of around 15 hours so far. When this game was first announced I was like "another assassins creed already?" with only a year between this game and Assassins creed 2 I was very skeptical on how this game would turn out. But I was wrong to doubt, the game is fantastic, better than the previous two games. The game carries on with Ezio's story, and so remanins in renaissance Italy, so those who have played Assassins creed 2 will feel very much at home playing this. The controls are almost identical to Assassins creed 2, so no major changes there. The biggest suprise to me was how the combat system was revamped. After getting into my first fight I was shocked at how much of an improvment Ubisoft have made! Battles are much more fast paced, no more standing there for ages waiting to get attacked so you can counter kill, you are rewarded for taking the fight to them with the new kill-chain feature which is great fun.The game also features many, many sidequests which easily add 5-10+ hours of gameplay. Assassination contracts, faction guild quests, races, lairs, renovating Rome, subject 16 puzzles and more.I was looking foward to seeing how the story develops, more than actually playing the game, so how's the storyline? It was no disappointment (so far). It's still full of mystery that you should of come accustomed to, if you've played the other games. It was actually hard for me to tear myself away from playing to write this review. The multiplayer looks very good aswell, though I haven't played it yet (finishing the single player first) but it adds longevity to the game, so that's always a good thing. This is a must buy game for any assassin creed fan, and to anyone who enjoys playing sandbox games with a great storyline, and fantastic gameplay.

After Black Ops this is probably one of the most keenly awaited game but is it better than Creed2? Well not quite, but it does come very very close. Continuing from where we left off Ezio has just confronted his arch nemesis (and let him live) whilst his modern day ancestor Desmond Miles is still hiding/on the run from Abstergo. This time around though it's the Borgia who are calling the shots, starting with a major retaliation on Ezio's hideout leaving the fort all but decimated and Ezio himself badly injured. Of course this is really an excuse to return his health level to the usual low start as it does in these games, with some abilities needing to be relearned plus weapons, armour etc needing to be repurchased or upgraded. But it's also a chance to learn some new tricks such as kicking an opponent to gain a stronger hold, chain attacks offing a few guards in just a few moves and improved eagle vision.Graphically it's OK, about what you'd expect from an assassins creed game, but with all of Rome to play in for the most part of the campaign.Gameplay it's pretty much Assassins Creed 2 with different missions. This is Rome in ruins and under siege from the Borgia. Taking them out by first killing the main guard than igniting some barrels at the top reduces Borgia influence. This not only allows you allies in that region but also allows you to upgrade shops, like with Montenegro. this time using the banks to collect all that money earned from these upgrades. The save citizens also returns, but unlike AC1 they don't simply promise to tell tales of your bravery but ask to join in the fight. You can then call them to assist you when the fight gets a little tough, or you wish to keep a distance. You then get to send them on various sidequests giving them various amounts of XP depending on the mission difficulty. Once they reach level 9 the are hardened Assassins themselves. It's a brilliant addition.assassins tombs also reappear, this time in the form of Romulus hideouts. As does the glyphs and the usual viewpoints. There are a few differences though, such as riding horses and Desmond's input. I won't spoil it here but let's just say he's not the moping barman wandering about in a clinically white lab anymore. In fact his part in this is more fun than you'd expect.Generally if you're new to Assassins creed i strongly recommend you start with at least the last instalment. But in terms of continuing the series, assassins Creed Brotherhood is definitely a title worthy of a place in your stocking this Christmas

Great but be warned
Excellent game. Missions in and around Ancient Rome are superb. The main disappointment is the downloadable content such as the Leonardo spin off wil not sync with the game and certain trophies cannot be accessed after completion of the games main story.

bloody top fun
I'm about 30% of the way into this game so far. I have played the 2 previous titles that were released on the PS3, and the story and game play follows on nicely from those. I really enjoy the more linear story line, offered by this style of game, where you can put your blinkers on and follow the story. Or you can while away some time looking for soldiers to have some fun with! The story itself is immersive and well thought out so far.The game play is a little different from the previous titles in that you can partially desynchronise and still complete the mission. you do this by not following the instructions closely. it's a great way of adding a little extra to the game. There also appears to be fewer "staged areas" - those that were added for AC2 (where you go jump around in a building for a while) which is good, because i thought those were a little rubbish and detracted from the story a bit (which is IMHO the most important part of these games)The combat has been improved a little as well, seemingly in an effort to make combat more fluid with multiple enemies. also access to ranged weapons has been made a little easier, meaning you're less likely to be switching around in menus and more ripping a guards skull off with your hidden blade! If you don't enjoy story driven gaming, then this isn't the game for you - you will quickly tire and get bored. However if you are into these games, and haven't already played the first 2 titles, I recommend starting at the beginning. Assassins creed introduces you to the story and control methods much better. it's more a glossary on this one, thus people new to the franchise may struggle.
