EZ Detect Colon Disease Test

This is a well-respected fecal occult blood test with unambiguous results that is much easier to use than most. Has five test pads (paper squares). First one is dropped into clean bowl to verify nothing in water causes false positive. Another is dropped in after each of next three deposits -- color change within two minutes indicates positive result which should be reported to your physician. Final one is dropped in empty bowl after adding powder that induces positive results. If results of that test are negative, the pads are presumed defective and the tests are invalid. So, three samples over a period of several days are tested. Nothing needs to be sent to a lab and no awkward sample collection with little wooden sticks. Product from Mediply Diagnostics was received reasonably promptly from UK, factory sealed, but expired in 1 month. Priced accordingly, but short date and overseas location should have been disclosed.

An affordable alternative to Colo guard? Probably not. However, it's inexpensive, private and fairly simple to use. At least it gives you a fair gauge but not a definitive one as whether there might be a serious problem. You can typically expect with such tests 10 % inaccuracy or a false negative or false positive. Just in case. still you can always see your own doctor afterwards. Look at it this way. At least it's better than sitting back and doing nothing at all. Think about it ? Most men especially those who are considered at AVERAGE risk never even get tested. It's well worth the small price for the possible early warning which could easily save your life.

I have used several times and has always been negative. The first I used them years ago I was pretty sure something was wrong so I bought one and it was positive so I check a few time a year to be sure. If you’re older you should definitely be buying this product. It’s reasonably priced.

The color the control piece changed to was neither blue-green nor orange - the 2 colors described in the accompanying literature - but a sick yellow. Not knowing what that color meant made the test fairly useless.

If you have any risk factors then you should use this test several times each year even if you have recently been scoped and pronounced sound. Several years ago, when I had been scoped within the previous 24 months, I bought a kit and it gave a positive result. I immediately went in for another scope test and it showed problems that were fixed on the spot. But those problems could have developed into cancer if they had been allowed to go undetected. Without the aid of this test kit I would have not caught the problem and might have developed colon cancer, as did my mother and my uncle. Get this kit and use it: it is painless and you are not required to touch anything dirty. You simply drop a paper from this kit into the toilet bowl after making a poopy and notice if the paper changes color. That's it. Important: Visit your GI doctor regularly even if this test shows negative. This is a screening device, not a diagnostic device. Only your GI doctor can diagnose intestinal disease. But he is not perfect: use this kit between visits.

Easy to use

This self-testing kit really worked great. It's simple and quick to use. The biggest gain was peace of mind from being able to self-test at home and have the test results immediately.
