So far, this builder gel is GREAT!!A little context first — I’ve honestly never personally used builder gel until today. I’ve watched it being done before, and I went to cosmetology school years ago where it was taught to us, but we weren’t required to actually do builder gel sets and I never specialized in nails.That being said, I LOVE the consistency of this product! It’s not too thick and not too thin, which made it much easier to work with as a beginner.One thing I do want to note: I worked on each nail separately. I cured one base build at a time, then went back in with a thinner second layer to add a little extra thickness since I didn’t build them too thick initially. For the second coat, I cured my thumb separately, then my pointer and middle finger together, then my ring and pinky together. Doing them separately helped prevent the apex from falling and kept the gel from flooding the sides.TIP: Once you finish building the nail, flip your hand upside down for about 15 seconds before curing. This helps the apex form naturally and allows the gel to settle smoothly instead of looking lumpy.After curing the second coat, I wiped each nail with alcohol and they were no longer sticky/tacky. At that point, I shaped and buffed them to my desired shape.IMPORTANT TIP: Make sure you use a 150 or 180 grit file to scuff the ENTIRE nail before applying color. If you’re only doing a top coat, you could use a 200/220 grit buffer instead, but the more the surface is properly scuffed, the better your next layer will adhere.Once I finished shaping and prepping the surface, I applied:- A thin layer of base coat for extra reassurance- 2 thin layers of Maychao’s Milky White- 1 layer of Maychao’s Clear GlitterAfter curing the glitter, I lightly filed it with a 180 grit file because glitter can be a little clumpy, then lightly buffed it with a 220 buffer. After that, I only used one layer of top coat. I probably could’ve done two coats, but I actually like the softer shine from one coat.I’ll definitely be purchasing Maychao’s base and top coat once I run out of my Beetles products. I just don’t like wasting products I already have lol.Overall, I LOVE how these turned out! The thickness feels perfect and the quality seems amazing. Mine did NOT cure yellow (I saw some reviews mentioning that issue). There’s basically no odor, the colors are true to the photos, and the application process is very beginner-friendly.If you’re new to builder gel like me, I highly recommend watching a few YouTube tutorials first to understand the basics. That helped a lot.Honestly, I highly recommend this brand. It’s become one of my favorites and I keep coming back to buy more products from them. I only do my own nails and my family’s nails, and I’m definitely not a professional, but I genuinely feel like my nails have turned out better than some salons I’ve gone to recently. No hate to nail techs at all, but the last few times I treated myself, the results just weren’t worth the price. I was spending around $100–$120 for basic nails — no crazy designs or long lengths, just simple square or short almond sets.Learning to do my own nails has honestly been a game changer, and products like this make it so much easier.Love love LOVE this product. I love this builder gel. It gives such a good strength to my natural nails so I don’t have to worry about them breaking, even when they’re long. I love the consistency of the gel, as it’s thick enough to give you time to work with it, but thin enough to self-level. It has a very hard shiny finish when cured, and is very easy to use. I had been using this one and then decided to try a more expensive brand. To my surprise, this one was much better with an overall stronger and cleaner finish. I switched back to this product and haven’t looked back. I also have not experienced any lifting with this, which is pretty rare for gel. Overall, I highly recommend this builder gel!

While it’s a solid option for home manicures, the consistency may take a bit of practice to perfect because it is thick. Overall, it’s a reliable choice for enhancing and extending your nails.

Every polish I've bought from this brand actually exceeded my expectations. If you're debating, just Do it! I've never liked red or black polish but now love them thanks to the shine this brand has!

I really tried to love this and for some it may work for them but I didn’t get more then a week out of them before they started peeling off

Great builder but not as solid after cured in UV

So, I have a few pros and cons for this builder gel.I got this as my first builder gel about a month ago now. I was tired of laying thick, nail extention gel and pouring acrylic/dip powder on my nail extentions to thicken them up so they wouldn't break so easily. There was so much filing involved still. I fell in love with builder gel from the get, it did take some getting used to, as it's a new product for me to be using but I honestly caught on super fast, as I already have a lot of knowledge in the nail realm.The constancy was very smooth and easy to work with, it doesn't flow all over the place where you don't want it going, so long as you lay your base level down correctly and apply the product correctly. The strength of the product is amazing as well. As well as its SUPER easy to file and perfect.However, my biggest issue being that it turns yellow in the UV/LED light and once on your nails are cured, it's no longer fully clear, there is a yellow tint to it. Which is fine when you aren't aiming for crystal clear nails, so it's worked for me so far. It's also extremely hard not to get any bubbles with the product/bottle it comes in. The bigger bubbles are easy to get rid of, but I notice there are a lot of little micro bubbles I can't seem to get rid if before curing. They haven't caused me any issues yet, just something to keep in mind if you're looking to do perfectly crystal clear nails. 🙂

This was my first time using this brand and I absolutely love it. It went on smooth and cured really nice. I will stick with this brand.
