Excellent Performance for the Price
Not a bad machine for the occasional woodworker or the hobbyist. For the price, the performance is quite good and the results meet all expectations. And now for the downsides: 1) The manual, while it provides essential information and seems complete, is written with poor English. 2) The 'Table Extension' in the back side does not lock in the upward position; You will need a bungee cord to secure it while in storage. 3) The vacuum attachment hood gets clogged after a period of use due to the shavings being rather large. This causes the surface of the work piece to get dimpled. I chose to remove it altogether; however, be aware that this action will actually expose the spinning blades, which could potentially be a safety hazard.

Great Planer***Don't underestimate the bang for the buck
This is my first planer. I never had nor used one before now. I read some reviews that complained about the dust collection effectiveness and went ahead to hook up my shop vac to the planer port. So far I am amazed at the amount of wood dust and chips my vac collects! I have a Ridgid Vac that is probably at least 5 or 6 years old. The meager amount of wood that escapes the vac is almost nil. And most importantly, this planer is the bomb. It makes mince meat out of anything I put through it. I turned some older boards sitting in my garage from disasters to something even my wife was impressed with. I recommend this planer to any home hobbyist who will use it for light to moderate work. It doesn't have many miles on it yet but it will have soon. And for the money I think it would be hard to beat.

It arrived, shipped Fed Ex...see review.
So it arrived by Fed Ex and in keeping with their "It ain't mine, I don't care" attitude, it was left on my front porch, laying on its side, when package clearly indicates that it should be handled and shipped top up. Packaging had been roughed up alot. Got it unpacked, and assembled. Instructions are very minimal. Could not adjust the cutter head up and down, as it was binding. Called company, and customer service was somewhat lacking in what they could do. To assist, you'd get email instructions or return it. To return, I would have to go through Amazon. Amazon would want packaging back also. I didn't have packaging...expected it work since it's German engineered. So, using my mechanic skills, and not wanting to hassle with returns, I took the top off to find the bind. Found it...Fed Ex strikes again as they had bent the housing. A pair of pliers stagically placed fixed the housing so I could raise and lower cutter head. Not perfect, but it works for what I need...getting ready to test the cutter head later today, or tomorrow...I didn't notice any other issues other than housing somewhat damaged, so I presume the cutter head is level...more to follow. UPDATE: Issue #1: The unit base mount holes are not drilled the same. 3 holes are 5/16", 1 hole is 3/8". Issue #2: The connector for the chip removal vacuum is a bit small for U.S. vacuum hose connections (Rigid), a piece of Duct tape tightened that up. UPDATE #2: Issue 3, the mounting holes mentioned in "Issue 1" are to close the to product to allow fasteners to attach it completely to a base. Suggest possible redesign of moving holes 1/4" to 3/8" out from unit to allow ease of mounting. The current configuration reqiired multiple, annoying trips to hardware store in order to mount tool to base. Final mounting required using rear left mount hole, and front right mount hole only. This provided enough mounting to safely use tool. Total setup time from box delivery to use was 4 days due to shipping damage repair, and mounting configuration issues...otherwise, tool performed admirably as expected with low noise, and steady planning ( Setting 1). Suggest purchasing a dust collector for use between planner and Shop Vac to protect shop vac from dust clogging and burn out of shop vac motor (Voice of Experience).

Very loud and started falling apart
I’m extremely disappointed with this planer. After only a few uses, it already started falling apart, which raises serious concerns about its build quality and durability. On top of that, it was advertised as “low noise,” but in reality, it is extremely loud—far louder than expected and definitely not suitable for a (garage) workshop. Overall, this product does not deliver on its promises. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable or quiet planer.

Boards are getting stuck while being planed.
I purchased this planer to use with 12 inch cypress boards 8 ft long that are slightly over one inch thick. The goal is to plane down to one inch. Taking light passes one half turn for each pass the first six pads went through fine. Since then the following boards have been continually getting stuck and I wind up having to pull on the boards to keep them moving. Every time it stops moving the cutter leaves a hot spot (dark line) across the board. Not good as these boards are going on my porch at my main entrance. I have looked at a few videos that say wax the plate with car wax. If that works I will update this review. In the photo you can see the lines on the closest four boards.

Works well for my purposes
This is the first planner I've owned. Overall it is fairly straightforward to use. I've run several boards through this and have not experienced any downsides. The exit shoot is not plugging up on me unless my Shopvac gets full. In addition, I do not have any circuit breaker issues. I do run this on a dedicated circuit to avoid any power issues. I have experienced some planer snipe; however, I'm learning to avoid or minimize that from happening. Overall I'm pleased with this unit. The assembly was minimal. I understand you should consider an extended warranty for devices like this, so I bought one to be safe.

Great buy! I think I'll be using this planer for years.
I love it! It's very high quality and works perfectly. I have been planing smal pecan logs down into project wood which is a very hard wood. Good lumber is hours from where I live so I'm using firewood and planing it into usable slabs. I think I'll be using this planer for years.

Good tool.
What a great tool. Works really well, just got to remember that one full turn equals 1.5 mm so only half a turn at a time. Really, really pleased with this purchase. Arrived in good time and was really well packed. Minimum adjustment to set up to give a perfect cut. Now comes with a little tool storage area at the top and the clippings are directed to one side. Wish it could be bought with the stand as I had to search around to find that. Why can the single speed planer be bought with one but not the two speed?? Small annoyance though. All told a good buy. 5 stars.

Veramnte ottima
