It's getting hot in here! This thermometer did the trick while making candles. It is longer than I anticipated, but I neglected to look at the specs while buying. Would have given it 5 stars but the clip that is used to hole on the side of pot fits loosely and and the thermometer kept falling in the wax.

Great quality thermometer
Great quality thermometer. For candle making, this would be best used with a smaller pour pot, like 1-2 lbs. On my 4 lbs pot, when clipped to the side it only reaches about 1/3rd of the way to the bottom. If you're using the 4 lbs pot for large batches, this works great. If you're making a smaller batch, you will have to tilt your pot and hold the thermometer in the wax by hand to get an accurate reading. Cleans up very well!

Decent thermometer, but not much more
I got this thermometer to use for my first candle making experience. I've never made candles before, and never knew there was such a thing as a special "candle thermometer". I'm still not exactly sure why this thermometer is special, as it seems similar to other cooking thermometers. I'm guessing you could probably just buy any cooking thermometer if you need to use it for candle making, and it's probably cheaper too.I was just frustrated that I got a special candle thermometer instead of using the one I already had, only to discover that it just wouldn't stay well to the pot I was using. I wish the clip was stronger and worked better, and I also wish that it was longer. Another issue that I had regarding this thermometer is that I've gotten inconsistent recorded temperatures with it, which is concerning if the whole point is to be accurate. However, most of the time it does work fine, and I suppose if you aren't too picky then this thermometer would be perfectly fine. I'm just not sure if it's really worth the extra money for a special "candle" thermometer if you already have one. There may be better options out there. Also, cleaning this thermometer can be a bit difficult as moisture can get trapped inside.

PRODUCT WAS NOT WHAT WAS ADVERTISED
I received my order. The product that I received was not the Country Lane Candle Thermometer. It was a product from Taylor. The picture attached is how the product came out of the box. I did some research and the Taylor product does work for what I need so I do not need to return.

Great buy for a beginner or pro
Used right away it was easy to read with helpful color coding and the clip on survived the heat and was so helpful

Just want I needed
I bought this to use with my dutch oven to fry. This is nice and long with a clip so i can keep it in the dutch oven while still using both of my hands. It's a strong glass material and has a storing case which is great.

Handy Thermometer for Candle Making
This thermometer was purchased to make candles. I like the fact that there is a cool touch knob to grab when using. The thermometer was more reasonbly priced than in my local hardware store. I would recommend for anyone who makes their own candles.

Size is too large for most wax pots
You need a fairly deep wax pot for the thermometer to clip to the side of the pot. I tried to use this to control the temperature for batik wax and it just would not stay in the pot. In fact, it fell out of the pot and broke when it hit the table.
