I have bought several of these and they cannot be faulted
This is an excellent 12 volt bilge pump. We have several over the last three years and they are all still working.

The flow rate is better than another 12V pump I used to have
I use this pump attached to a 12V leisure battery, to pump water from a pond to water butts on my allotment. It works really well, but requires some adaptation to use out of the box. The bare wire leads need to be attached to crocodile clamps or some other way of connecting to the battery; and the hose is 3/4" which is something I'm finding difficult to source here (I adapted it to connect to a standard 1/2" garden hosepipe for now). The flow rate is better than another 12V pump I used to have, and so far it is operating seamlessly (used about 4 months).

A bilge pump for an allotment?
I have an allotment near a well, and a big water-storage tank next to my plot. Not wanting to use bucket and rope to lift and carry the water to the tank, I bought the Rule 12 volt 360gph Bilge Pump. By fixing this to a small 'raft', and extending the wiring, I can lower the pump on a rope - with 3/4in hose attached - down to the water, on which it floats. To power the pump I use a 7.2 Ampere Hour MM26 12v lead-acid battery from Maplins, connecting with crocodile clips. I leave the pump running while I work the land. It couldn't be simpler. I keep hose, battery and pump assembly in a large sealable plastic container on site, except when the battery needs a recharge. (Recharging could be done using a simple solar trickle charger.)I also use the pump to move water across the allotment site to other tanks. You must use 3/4in pipe: using 1/2in garden hose simply slows everything down. It is also essential to allow the water to move upwards from the pump to remove all air bubbles from the pipe.

I got this pump as a means of transferring water ...
I got this pump as a means of transferring water from one tank with a mains supply to another without. Even after attaching ten metres of hose, the pump transferred water at an impressive rate. The water tanks are for horses to drink from and the leisure batteries which we use for the electric fences on the horses fields are perfectly adequate as a means of powering the pump.

Bilge!
This item replaces an identical pump which performed perfectly for 7 years in conditions including gritty muddy water to run an irrigation system for my garden (keeping up to 4 water butts full through the summer) from a small watercourse. I hope the new pump performs even longer without problem!

it pumps well but would be more practical if supplied with some form of fixing or mounting bracket to hold it in place

Attention au produit livré !
Le produit livré n'est pas le produit commandé. Il s'agit de la version plus récente. Dans l'absolu ce n'est pas grave mais j'aurais pu trouver cette version un peu moins cher.Après, la pompe marche parfaitement.Livraison rapide.

Good
Good replacement and works fine.

Good Pressure, Small, Light, Low Current[sorta]
Bought this for beach trips. Basically wanna toss it out shore and use it to pump water on shore for things as sand castles and what not. Just received it this evening and did some testing. Using 3/4 inch water hose to an 3/4 inch connection, then going to a washing machine hose. I connected a 1/4 nozzle to bump up the pressure and to help it aim. I tossed the pump in a 5Gal bucket using a 5AH SLA battery. I held the hose 6ft+ above the bucket[ran outta hose] and it remained shooting water a good 10-15ft as if I were holding it 2ft high. While doing so, the pump was pulling anywhere from 1.01-1.14 amps[around 12 watts] from the battery[12.2V]. Now if I removed the connections and let the pump just circulate in the bucket unrestricted, it was pulling 2 amps[around 24 watts. I'll be using the nozzle so the 5AH SLA battery should get me a good 5 hours out of it, which is perfect. So far, good little pump. It puts out I wanna say 3PSI if its pumping at water level, with very high volume.I'll edit my review once I get it to shore and post how it does.EDIT~ 05/20/13It worked very well with a 25ft 3/4" hose. Works really good for washing the sand off yourself. I used a large zip strip to tie it down to a brick, that way it doesn't float back onto shore, which worked nicely. I just used about 15ft of speaker wire as a lead but had to use a chair to hold the battery out of the water. After running it through salt water, I can see the motor shaft and it is NOT rusty, which is a good sign. However, I did let it pump out 3 5-gallon buckets of fresh water, just to rinse it out.

Insurance Never used but glad it's there
I installed this in my jet ski after exhaust hose popped off one day. I had to drill a hole through the fiberglass for the water to exit, as will anyone who uses the unit. Gotta put the water somewhere. That is the most difficult part. you also have to glue the pump to the bottom/inner hull of your watercraft and wire it in. I have never had to use the pump, but I am glad it is there. It's like insurance.
