On a windy day, the straight 12-ft channel between our house and our neighbor creates a venturi effect, magnifying the strength of the wind and creating a safety hazard; so these cane rods are vital. The 1/2-inch thickness of the material strikes the right balance between strength and weight, and the design is simple, attractive and make for a quick and easy installation. The supplied hardware was adequate, but I opted for longer screws because of the soft cedar wood.Zoom in and you'll see the concrete anchors I installed, two for each rod. These anchors are easy to use and a snap to install, but make sure the rods are fastened to a sturdy support. I had to add 2x4 bracing because my lovely gate material was so flimsy. The forms for the anchors I improvised from PVC pipe scraps scrounged from ACE Hardware. I poured rapid-set Quickcrete (red bag) and jiggled everything for about 10 minutes until it set.Highly recommended. Price is right and love the look and function.

Great quality product really brought out fence great appearance

I wish these came with instructions, can't figure our how to install the brackets distance wise to the rod. the notch on the rod is also confusing not sure why the notch requires the rod to be turned 360 which doesn't make sense. makes me think that these are defective. The two 12" rods came in a plastic bag with no instructions. don't know what to do at this point
