Yes, they can be used for that. I have found that they are very soft and they stay on your head very well. I am undergoing ChemoTherapy so I have lost ALL my hair. The hats keep my head warm and they are very nice looking. They even have some with sparkles on them.

It is actually 95% cotton 5% spandex. Very lightweight, comfortable, and breathable. I wore this the entire time I was going through chemotherapy and beyond. It was great for something casual around the house as well as going out. Also good for sleeping in as it was lightweight and loose enough that it didn’t create any pressure on the head, yet it stayed on securely. I can recommend these 100% and would definitely buy them again if need be. I hand wash them but always line dried them and did wash them in a garment bag on a delicate cycle with cold water in the washing machine. Again always line dried overnight.
