Jon Pertwee's 3 Year as DOCTOR WHO is a fun season...
Now fully established as the Doctor, and in Color (Getting 26 episodes after only getting 25 for his first two years) Jon Pertwee once again returns for his 3rd year as The Doctor in a season of high adventure both on Earth, and in Space & Time!Opening with the return of THE DALKES after 7 years, this season consists of 2, 4 part stories and 3, 6 part stories - which include the return of The Master in THE SEA DEVILS and 2 off-world adventures in "The Curse of Paladon" and "The Mutants". Featuring a reduced number of episodes for the reoccurring cast of Nick Courtney, Richard Franklin, John Levine, and Roger Delgado and and increase of off-world adventures from the previous season (2 rather than 1) The series begins it's shift to more Space & Time stories with less Earth-Bound stories that will continue for the rest of Jon Pertwee's run, and into Tom Baker's first year 3 seasons later from here. The restoration of 50 year old episodes from various sources and recoveries of the 1970's and 1980's is simply amazing. Some stories only exist as duplicate syndication copies from America and Canada, but advances in technology by the "Doctor Who Restoration Team" see them restored to as close to the original British Broadcast tapes. The Extras are just overwhelming - EVERYTHING from the previous DVD releases AS WELL AS Hours and hours of new extras make this the perfect package to represent this era. Katy Manning, who played Jo Grant, the Doctor's assistant in these stories (Who returns as the character in 2022 in a new featurette!) contributes a wealth of new material made just for the Blu-Ray!A Great compilation to sit beside Seasons "Two" (8) and "Four" (10) of Jon Pertwee's collection. I for one eagerly await Seasons "one" (7) and "five" (11) to complete the adventures of the 3rd Doctor.

“Just the Shaft please!”, what the BBC thinks American Blu-Ray Buyers want.
Once again we get screwed on this side of the pond. Not a single one of the new blu-Ray sets for the USA has any kind of insert. No booklet of any kind. Just the absolute barest of bones for the Yanks I suppose. Pratts.Anyway Jon Pertwee stars as the Doctor so… Five Stars.

Great upgrade
Enjoyed watching Doctor Who since I was a child. So nice to see that they are releasing in BR and cleaning up the video and effects. Some of the extras are also fun to watch. Jon Pertwee was the first actor that I saw when I started to watch Doctor Who. Very happy to add to my collection. Hoping to finish up with the rest of Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker and Peter Davison on BR.
