For those of you with flat nipples, were you able to wean off the nipple shield? If so, when and how did you do it?

If you aren't able to wean off the shield, don't worry. You can continue using it for as long as you need to, even all the way. I've been using it since the beginning, for 4 months now. I kept trying to wean off of it at the beginning but we were both getting too frustrated, so I gave up. She's starting to bite now so I'm glad I have the shield!Update: 10 and a half months now, and still using the shield. No problems whatsoever, milk supply has been great, the baby is doing great. She has teeth now so I'm REALLY glad I have the shield!

Are these hard or soft flexible shields?

I wouldn't say they are hard at all. They hold their shape, but are soft to the touch Easy to move and make fit onto you. There are a few ways to put it on I found that pressing the tip down so it goes into itself then placing in you and when it pulls itself back to its original shape it draws you into it. these have been a life saver for me!!

Does this shield have the cut out? The picture shows a standard one however the description says contact.

The one we received did NOT have a cut out. The one from the hospital did. After a few uses we couldn't tell the difference using it

If I use 19mm falanges for pumping will these work for me? I can't seem to find 19mm nipple shields.

The size of the Nipple Shield is determined by the size of the baby's mouth, not the size of the nipple. Nipple Shields are available in 16 MM, 20 MM, and 24 MM. Please consult a lactation consultant or health care provider for proper sizing.

Exactly What Was Expected

Ordered this for my wife, who is pregnant. It arrived early which made both of us happy. It is exactly what she expected. She has tried it and it fits perfectly. Works well, as long a you apply it per the instructions provided. I noticed afterwards that this is more expensive than Shoppers Drug Mart and it doesn't come with a case which would have been useful.

Mi salvación durante los primeros 6 meses de lactancia. Sigo lactando ya tiene un año mi bebé y se la quite a los 6 meses sin problema! A mi me ayudo a medir una consultora de lactancia y por eso la medida es perfecta no me lastimo y nada Les recomiendo que se midan bien y aumenten dos mm más de su medida para que no batallen
