Amazon Basics Non-Mortise Hinges, 2" x 0.9", Satin Nickel, 10 Pack

I bought these during Prime Day just to have on-hand. They were very inexpensive so I was surprised by the quality. The hinge material is a commensurate weight for its size, i.e., not flimsy; the finish is quite nice and the hinge operates smoothly. I’d definitely buy these again.

These hinges worked great. They have excellent quality and are stainless steel. I used these for the door of a small Laptop enclosure for my shop. I attached the hinges to the1/2" MDF door with a small strip of double sticky tape and transferred the pilot holes with a centering drill bit. Using an extra hinge I did the same to the enclosure. These hinges close flat (inlay) and the flat head screw heads stick out just a bit. This prevents the hinges and door from closing flush The manufacturer could have alleviated this by counterboring the holes a little deeper. Using a 3/8 forstner bit in the locations of each screw head solved this. Notice how the door stays open. These type of hinges are great for this.

The title of review says it all. Just be sure to read measurements to avoid any issues when starting your project. Otherwise, these hinges are strong, sturdy, and well made. Used on farm for making chicken houses with doors to nesting boxes.

These no-mortise hinges leave a thin air gap between door and frame. The metal’s gauge is necessarily thin so I used three on a 36” x 24” door of 3/4” wood. The included screws are short and probably # 4 or 5. If you use longer screws check that the head sits flat in the beveled hole in the hinge. If the head protrudes it will push the door open.
