Engrossing view of Elizabeth's London
An excellent mystery , as the main character serves the new Queen in as many ways as she can, and discovers new facts about herself at the same time

Tudor intrigue
Pleasing ramble through the intracies of Tudor court and bloodlines id the great families. The maiin character is resourceful without being over powered and I appreciate that the too often fascination with love affairs is tobed down here. An enhiyable read

Clues were well placed and side characters interesting
I really enjoyed this second book in the series, but I feel like the resolution of both the personal growth and the mystery really a bit much on the most common of Tudor tropes. I did enjoy that Kate's had a slight twist to it. Kate is as ever a spunky little musician game to help protect Elizabeth. Clues were well placed and side characters interesting. I missed some of them this time around because the doses were quite low, but it made sense based on the story line. Looking forward to book 3.

Good story line!
While I really enjoyed this story, I periodically had to read it in book form (yes, I have the book also) because the Kindle version had so many grammatical errors, missing words, lack of proper punctuation.....it got quite aggravating and so I would revert to the actual book. These things aside, the story was well done, with a good mystery and a nice flow. I would give this a 5 star if not for the above mentioned issues. I would recommend the book form instead. The Kindle version really could've used a good editor.

Bravo Ms. Carmack!
This is one of 3 books written about protagonist-musician Kate Haywood and it was terrific. Each of the books takes the reader forward in time culminating in Elizabeth's ascendance to the throne and her first years on the throne. Kate Haywood is a marvelous character - intelligent, talented, loyal to Elizabeth despite the sacrifices she and her father make to remain at the side of the budding monarch. Her love interest in heart-warming and keeps you engaged. The mysteries are well-crafted and complex. Details about Elizabethan England are accurate and interesting. I didn't want the story to end and I couldn't put the book down. Thank goodness for authors like Amanda Carmack. She provides sustenance for readers who crave well-written historical mysteries.

Murder at westminister abbey
Loved this book 2. Such mystery like book 1. Loved the twist it took with Kate at the ending. Now onto book 3

unnecessary peril
Kate was put in harm's way just to make the book more interesting. Why else would the men, with the report of a light in the attic, start searching the ground floor and allow her to go upstairs?

got very annoying by the end of the book
The story line was interesting and entertaining, however the sheer number of typos, misspellings, and grammatical errors was really distracting on the Kindle version of the book. I expect a few mistakes, but to encounter a mistake every couple of pages, many that made the text make no sense, got very annoying by the end of the book. I am hesitant to purchase the next book in the series because of all the mistakes.

A great read, the reign of Elizabeth 1 was certainly a great period in English history.
