This seems sturdy and is a smooth dense wood; it doesn't seem to have any splinters mentioned in a couple of reviews. It's given a new lease of life to this very old and well used leaf rake. It just needed a bit of shaving and sanding to more of a taper for the job. I think it would ordinarily fit a standard broom or a less tapered tool straight out of the packaging.

I use these for windbreak poles as the wood is nice and the diameters are just right for the width and not too heavy. They usually come in great condition.Occasionally there will be a small split in one, which means I can't use them for the windbreaks because it doesn't look good cosmetically, but they are still fine for use as actual broom handles and for gardening uses.

Super value and good quality broom handle a little shorter than average broom handles probably by about a foot, doesn't make any difference for my needs.

Fitted the brush head purchased perfectly.

I got these for my African grey, they're solid so as a broom handle I'd say pretty good
