5 stars for a perfect 10
This movie has always been a personal favourite & takes me back to an era when words like "political correctness" & "woke snowflakes" were thankfully unheard of &, better still, not implemented into movies like this.Durley Moore & Dame Julie Andrews are the main 2 stars, but inevitably it was Bo Derek that caught everyone's attention....for obvious reasons !.Robert Webber, usually a serious actor, is excellent as Moore's songwriting partner as is Brian Denehey (sorry for the misspelling) as the bartender & Dee Wallace Stone as a singleton who can't find the right man.The blu-ray disc has very good picture & sound quality &, although a US release, it's region free & will playback on region B players.

Blast from the Past
We pulled this out and watched it again last night, mostly because there just isn't anything new to watch these days and it seemed like the right kind of light entertainment with a summery vibe that was needed. And it did the trick. There's plenty of summer sunshine and beaches with Malibu and the glorious Mexican Las Hadas hotel locations. Dudley Moore is fun as the California songwriter going through the midlife crisis from hell on the heels of his 42nd birthday, Bo Derek is drop dead gorgeous in that late 70s way as the young bride who becomes the object of Moore's obsession, Julie Andrews is Moore's sensible and long suffering girlfriend and Sam Jones of Flash Gordon fame (or should that be infamy?) appears as Derek's newly wed husband. It's not a particularly great film, certainly not one of Blake Edwards' best, but there's a bit of fun here all the same, and very little political correctness. I loved the mutual voyeurism with the two parties watching each others sexual exploits through the telescopes. Also rather fun to watch as the enchanting young bride turns out to be a belated hippie and a total flake. And I promise you, you'll never hear Ravel's Bolero quite the same after watching this film. Overall it was great fun to see this again, a real blast from the past. Probably more fun for those who were around back then and remember the 70s.

Funniest mid-life crisis story ever
Altough I am usually not a fan of comedies this one is really funny and witty. A middle-aged man (Dudley Moore) becomes infatuated by a young and beautiful women (Bo Derek) and cannot put her out of his mind (altough he's in a happy relationship with his loving girlfriend). Obsessed, he decides to follow this 'cover girl' into the heart of Mexico where she celebrates her honeymoon ! When he finally encounters her, his dream seems to come true but it results... in a deception. Dudley Moore is fantastic in this role and yes, Bo Derek is absolutely stunning, hence the title (10/10). A cult movie from the 70' highlighting how men fight their mid-life crisis and their everlasting thirst to please.

Dudley at his very peak
One of my favourite all time films and definately, for me, Dudleys best film work.He plays a 40 year old famous composer, George Webber (based on Andrew Lloyd?) going through a middle aged crisis. The film is split into a series of very very funny episodes as he tries to eventually meet Bo Derek, the girl he briefly glimpses as shes on her way to her wedding, and rates her as his '10'.A must see for and Dudley fans who haven't already seen it and some beautiful piano scenes from Dud, showcasing what a fantastic musician he really was.The scene where he has to watch the vicar playing the organ, trying to impress Dudley, had me in tears when I first saw it!10/10 for me!

What was i thinking?
This is a bit of a nostalgic dvd for me, it has been over 20 years since I first watched it. I remember laughing at the time. I love Dudley Moore and adore Brian Dennehy. However on revisiting the movie recently, I'm afraid to admit that it no longer has the same appeal as it once did.
