I have a giant Samsung Note 9 in an Otterbox Defender case which makes it 6.75"x3.5"x.5". Even if it fits in a clip mount, it barely fits and driving over any bump will knock it down and it's close to impossible to get it back in the clip while driving. I gave up on the clip when I saw a friend with a magnetic one...I bought a single magnet mount. The magnet wasn't strong enough to hold the phone with the metal plate placed inside the case so I had to krazy glue one to the outside of this silicone case. That fell off after the phone overheated and melted the glue. It still wasn't a strong hold and would fall off if I drove over a bump.Then, I realized, why not use two? I was surprised to see that so many magnetic car mounts are sold in pairs now, I'm guessing for this very reason. These clips barely go into the vent at all but the unique shape allows it to brace itself and reinforce it's position when driving over bumps. I'm using both clips and put both metal plates under my case to test. I was shocked that the magnets are strong enough to hold the phone tightly even through my thick case! This design is genius and you'll get an even stronger hold if you use both on one phone.**UPDATE its not perfect. Because the clips can only go on the vent side by side, that means it can only hold my phone horizontally. The clips will pull out if I yank my phone carelessly off and if they're not clipped in with care, so they go all the way in, they'll slip off while hitting bumps. This would be perfect if the magnet part was a huge square that could hold the phone either way, which would block the vent. The 'L' shape of this clip is the key to it working though.

All of this works great, as long as you don’t have the magnet right on your phone and then a thick case over it. I stuck the magnet right to my phone, but constantly have to take my case off to use the holder in the car. And I can’t use clear cases now, cause all you can see is this magnet. I’d like to take it off and put it on a case instead. But I CANNOT get the magnet off of my phone to save my life. It all work as it should and very very strong! But I gave it 4 stars because of the fact that I can’t get the magnet off my phone, and it’s really pissing me off. That’s a huge down fall for me, I should be able to take it off whenever I want!!

I bought this car magnet for my phone at the end of November 2019.I have to say it was good but not good enough.I basically used it for about 6 to 8 months based on the fact that in my country, Panama, we were send into lockdown since May 2020 but i was sent on vacation the whole month of April because of it.After that i was given a leave of absence and then fired, so basically i did not used this product on my car as i was expecting until February 2021 that i have been driving again.Yesterday, February 12, 2021, it broke.Besides that, i had issues with the cushion pad attached to the the part that holds into the car's A/C ventilation windows, they started to slip back in February 2020 so i had to glue them back.Finaly, i thought this would be better than the ones that you insert into the A/C ventilation windows but i was wrong because this one hit the vertical flaps that you move inside the little windows and it won't let you change the direction of the A/C in the ventilation system.I would say this product it's not bad but it's average in comparisson with the inserted ones.I would definitely ask you to give it a chance but if you come from the other kinds, just don't expect it to be better.PD: Used on a 2013 BMW 320i

My phone has a Pop Socket, but I wanted to see if I could find a solution to where the phone doesn't cover my vent. With AC, it's not the end of the world, but the heat when I have it coming through the top vents will overheat my phone and having just got it, I'm not ready to torture it that way. I was hoping I could use this upside down, but the weight of the phone of course made it come out. I then tried it as pictured, over my Pop Socket! It works great! I only use it there when I have the AC or heat on, otherwise it stays in the Pop Socket holder. I liked that it came with 2, as my boyfriend has a magnetic case and he can use the one on the other side when he rides with me. I actually didn't try the magnets it came with as I already had one my boyfriend gave me to use in his truck, but it works great and is strong enough to stay put, even with my rigging.

I like the idea of these, but the magnet on them is so weak that my phone kept on slipping off every time we hit a bump in the road.

Okay, so after using these in my car infrequently, as I just don't drive much, I think they still would have had my 5 stars, if you don't live in any area where it's hot for most of the year. I use a sun shade all the time, however both of the clips on these have now broken, leaving them completely useless. The following was my original review:I absolutely love these magnetic phone holders for the car! None of the other types have even come close to the quality, convince and strength of these.They have a strong magnetic hold, so much so that all my phone has for a magnet is inside an adhesive card holder and my phone has not so much as slipped a centimeter from these holders. If you don't already have anything magnetic to hold your phone to these, no worries as they also come with 3 strong, but super slim magnets for 3 phones, that you just slip in-between your case and phone, or if you don't use a case, you could adhere to your phone.I also love the fact that I can clip them to the very bottom of my vents, so neither the air conditioning nor the heat needs to be blocked.

I am most impressed with the strong clip capability where these grip the vent vanes. They don't slip and the magnet is strong. They are easily taken off if not needed.

They look amazing! Super sleek. But that’s about it. Nice idea but needs huge improvement on the clip holding it to the vent. It slides right off the vent every time I take my phone off when getting off the car.Also, the self adhesive metal pieces that are supposed to be attached to the phones you plan to use with this thing, are literally unpainted polished metal which feels rather thick on the edges when you touch the back of the phone... like when typing!Zero thought was put into making those metal pieces. Doesn’t even look like they belong with the product sold. Almost looks like I had to come up with some way to attach my phone to the product and came up with these cheap metal pieces. Even the polishing on them is done with big inperfections... looks like scratches.The could have at least beveled the edges of the metal and painted them black or something. They look horrible on our cell phones.Would not recommend.Wouldn’t not buy again.For all those reasons, this scored extremely low. I’ll keep them for now, but as soon as the economy goes back to normal, and stored go back to normal, I’ll be buying locally something more can see and touch before buying a replacement.

Two pack. Works so good. My hubby and I have them in both our cars bc it's a 2 pack. It came with a handful of magnets to attach to the back of the phone which is so awesome bc everyone in your home who drives can then use it while driving your car. It's a very strong magnet too. I have a thin case so I didnt even stick the magnet to my phone, I set it inside the case and it works through the case. However my hubby's case was too thick so he attached it to the outside of his case. The magnet stands out and were a blue colour, but he doesn't mind bc he drives so much for work that this is saving him from tickets and keeping him safe. The clip attaches to your vent easily and is super strong, like a clamp. What I am so thankful for is it doesnt take any time to stick my phone on it each time. I'm a busy working mom and I'm often in a rush. Its fast and effective and doesnt matter that I have a popsocket on my phone too (another one I use to have wouldn't hold it with the popsocket). Such a good price for 2, and allows many of us to drive safe.

The magnet on it is very strong. My phone doesn’t ever slide off even when driving over bumps. The only downfall is that the glue/adhesive stickers on the clip to attach to the car vent is AWFUL. It doesn’t stay on at all. It comes off all the time. Even when I grab my phone. Sometimes I don’t realize I took the clip with me leaving the car.The magnet that attaches to the phone is strong but again the adhesive sticker is awful. It immediately lifted up within a few days of attaching to to my case. I had to constantly press it against the case - hoping it’ll last at least a year.Also note, that the magnet in the phone should be attached on the outside of your case and NOT inside. Otherwise the magnet isn’t strong enough. Tbh I wish it was strong enough to put it inside the case bc it makes your case look ugly.

Just installed, will edit later if necessary.Quick installation although there were no instructions. I found that clipping it on upside down helped my iPhone XS Max fit better over the car vent.It came with both square and round magnetic plates that you stick to your phone/case. I used the round one because it fit perfectly over my pop socket holder. Added bonus, I can also still use my pop socket holder in my car, as the round plate is an exact size match. It came with two round sticky thing but I can’t yet figure out what they are for!

1 magnet works perfect but the other one already is broken on the clamp. I was driving 1 day and suddenly my phone just fell... so I checked and my phone was still on the magnet but the clamp was broken. Quality on the clamp is like meeeeeeeeeeh as it broke easily. Magnet on the other hand is very strong.Would have been a 5 star if it did not broke. Now its been glued and hope it holds up. I will increase to 4 star in the future if the other one doesn't break.
