I think it's important to "advertise" that I'm type O Negative because I can and have donated blood on the spot, also it's important because if I were to need a transfusion myself I'm letting first responders know my blood type ASAP can get the wheels in motion a little earlier since type O Negative patients can only accept our own blood type.
