Up-grade! Flute Grades 2-3 [Up-grade! series]: Light Relief Between Grades

My eight year old daughter says this this is "the best book ever". She has recently passed her grade one and is really enjoying the pieces in this great book.

I have done my Grade 2 flute exam, and passed with a score of 123/150 (Merit) And I don't think I could have passed it without this book.For me, the best in this book was the 'Symphony no. 40 in G Major'. It is an octave below ones I have previously played, and still sounds great. Scale learning blues does exactly that, and Rosie is an old blues style which is unhurried and relaxed. However, my current favourite has got to be 'The Mango Walk' It's quite high, but its a great piece to get neweer players into the higher-D notes.My only downfall of this book is the fact that there are only 14 songs- But that is more than enough if you just want a nice break from playing your same pieces over and over again.

This is a fab book - I am a flute teacher and am using it with my pupils - they are really enjoying it and the pieces are pitched exactly right for those between Grade 2 - 3! Good purchase!
