Each color signifies a different direction that the snips are made to cut. Red. snips cut left, Green snips cut right, Yellow snips cut straight, left, or right. The different colors make it easy to distinguish between the three snips when searching among your tools. Snips themselves can appear far too similar to the untrained eye.The right handed snips I received have a red coloring in their handles, which could confuse some users....yet, on the plus side, they do have the letter R om the frame to help you designate cut direction. While this may not fully make up for the confusing grip coloration, it should at least help.Rating: 3 stars.
