I am using these markers to mark the cat statues in my kitty cemetery. They are very practical for this use. Sturdy enough, tall enough but not too tall, come with a dark marking pencil and are reasonably priced.I am very pleased with this product. Thanks to the seller!

I don't know why other reviewers complain about how the tag comes off the stand. I've found it hugely helpful to be able to remove the tag before writing on it and then re-bending it around the stand/frame. I've written about 89 tags in this manner this year. I've only had one tag come off in the garden and that was because I was getting rather lazy with re-bending the tags around the frames towards the end.My only complaint is probably that the carbon pencil is a pain in the butt to sharpen and keep sharp, but two pencils sufficed for marking all 89 tags that I've done this year. I used a hand-sharpener, like those ones we kept in our pencil-boxes when we were children.In the garden these tags look superb. Even my husband was impressed with how professional my labelling job looked! The length of the legs is quite enough to have a stable stance in the soil while being high enough not to get covered with mud. I would like to point out that the greasy carbon-pencil can come off, but it does leave a shadow of the letters that were there. I assume this is the permanent labeling the marketing alludes to. It's quite enough to read if you don't have eyesight problems.The metal of the tag is thick enough. I like that I can take the tag off the stand to write the labels. Once you have mastered the technique for putting them on, the tags stay on. Also, it feels like the zinc coating is on both sides of the tag, so if a plant dies, you can remove the tag and write a new label on the other side.

Tall enough for perennials in the garden.

I LOVE to garden. Mine is always getting compliments and inevitably someone asks me "What is THAT one called?" and inevitably - I forget. I can tell 'em how to care for it, how well it grows, what to feed it but the name is - just - not - there!!!!! After they leave, I can of course, recall the name with perfection. So I have been using plant markers. The plastic ones are OK but they can break if you aren't careful how you handle them, they don't fit LONG names and they are so short! In the summer when many plants get tall the name is all covered with leaves. In the winter, between the rain, mud and re planting the tags can get lost. These Permanent markers are long and can be pushed right into the root ball, they can't get pushed around when weeding or digging up. These are tall, AND they have lots of room to write the name both common and Latin. It came with one of those black wax pens. Maybe they work, but I have a label maker and that works best labels stick on and NEVER comes off. I have several that have been around for 2-3 years. I LOVE these! One friend said she felt like she was in a botanical garden because she could read the names. I like that.

My sister recommended these to me so I bought 20, bought a special outdoor permanent marker, and labeled all my plants. They were cute, at first, but these are not long-lasting, a problem with perennials you were hoping to keep up with. Several lost the metal plate, but all also lost their shine and the words I'd written. If you want them to last for one season, they're good. And even if I had stamped them like some creative people did, they would still have lost their pretty color and eventually, the plate would separate.

These copper tags are bigger than they appear in the picture, but the measurements are correct in the listing. They will be the right size once my plants grow a bit.I stamped them with metal stamps and they look very nice, but the copper is thin enough you could write with a ballpoint pen and get marks.Copper will naturally develop a pretty brown patina when exposed to air, but if you don't like it, you can always use Penny Brite or a polishing cloth to shine them back up.If you're having trouble seeing your marks after stamping try this: color over your recessed stamped/marked area with a Sharpie and use a polishing cloth or a paper towel with some denatured alcohol to lightly rub the Sharpie off of the higher areas, leaving it in your recessed areas. The Sharpie will stay over time, making your marks easier to read.

I found that etching these plant markers wasn't very effective as they were hard to read in the house much less bending over in the yard. I followed the advice of other reviewers and used clear Dymo tape to label them. They've only been in the ground for 2 months so I can't say yet how durable they will turn out to be. They copper glistens in the sunlight which you may or may not like. I've found it's hard to get plant markers that my dog won't pull out of the ground. So far these have stayed put but she did get the copper strip off of one - so far.

I bought the small size, and it’s just perfect to label my perennials using a 5/32” metal alphabet stamp set (also purchased through Amazon). I use a small notepad beneath the copper so that when I tap the letters with a hammer, it leaves a nice impression. Looking forward to these having a soft green patina. Looks so much better than the plastic plant markers.

they are easy to etch on, i went over the etching with an artline to make the name stand out they, look great in the pots with my frangipani's, no more forgetting their names now :-)

These are pretty flimsy, I'm not sure how long they will actually last in the garden. However, they're not crazy expensive and are better than plastic and more durable than wood.

Very happy with these plant markers especially as the carbon pencil was included. Sturdy and practical. Will probably buy more.

Easy marking of perennials for dividing during out of season.

Pour ceux et celles qui, comme moi, aime à savoir les noms de ses nombreuses plantes, ces étiquettes sont un must. Facile à rédiger, on peut même effacer et recommencer, se plante aisément, ne se brise pas facilement et, en plus, elles sont assez esthétiques. Que demander de mieux.
