Not 5x7!!!
I am an artist and was so disappointed after buying this notebook to find out that the sheets are not 5 x 7. The black cover is exactly a 5x7, but the pages are slightly smaller--4.75 x 7 to be exact. This might not matter for many people but because of the type of work I do, I need the pages to be exactly 5 x 7s so I'm returning this. The quality of the paper is good, but the description is inaccurate.

Possibly counterfeit
Beware of counterfeits, I have used Canson sketchbooks for years and the quality of this last purchase is questionable. I am going back and forth with my last Canson ordered from Amazon and it just feels off! It is a few pages short of 80, has little bits of leftover paper from the wire holes, and the paper is slightly warped. This is not common, it can be defective, but don't think so as the sticker even looks a bit off.Ill use it as it's not worth the hassle of returning but will be buying in store again after this experience.

Nice but not quite 12X9
This is a nice book and is what I was looking for to use on a project. The problem is, while the height does measure 12 inches, the width is not a full 9 inches. Plus, you loose almost a 1/2 inch of paper from the spiral binding. I wanted to be able to put a full piece of paper (8.5 x 11) on a page. If the width of the pages had been as advertised this would have been possible even with the loss from the spiral binding. Now, I will have to trim my paper with a paper cutter and lose part of the paper so it will fit. Not happy about that. It really should be the size advertised. I don't think that is too much for a customer to expect. Otherwise it is a very nice book.

Purchased as NEW and recieved USED..BEWARE
BEWARE..ordered this as a NEW product and it arrived USED with pencil sketches still in the book. There were only 76 pages including the used ones. MOST of the remaining pages were wrinkled and the cover was worn. Definitely was not expecting a product purchased NEW from Amazon to arrive in this condition. Extremely disappointed in Amazon and this experience has made me leery of making future purchases of ANY art supply or product again. Oh yeah, there was a very nice mechanical pencil left in the spiral binding of the book as well. I do not want a replacement and have requested a total refund.

Count the Pages
It's an excellent journal, but if I pay for 80 pages I want 80 pages, not 64.

Pleased.
Nice sketch book. I usually purchase Strathmore. I tried Canson on the recommendation of a friend, and purchased this 160 page book instead of the Canson 9-Inch by 12-Inch Universal Sketch Book, 100-Sheet bound sketch book, as it seemed more economical.Good quality. Would like it if the pages were thicker with a more tooth. The paper is fine quality for sketching out and experimenting and practicing new methods; the paper thickness reflecting a 160 page sketchbook at this price. A good deal, and entirely appropriate for students or those who do a lot of work and who burn through a hundred pages quickly.Recommend, unless you need more heft and tooth to your drawing page -- in which case, the paper count will be smaller to make the pages manageable. For greater heft and substantive tooth, I enjoy Strathmore Series 400 Sketch Pads 9 in. x 12 in. - pad of 100 ; I can't speak to the Canson 100 page or their medium weight products, as I've never tried them.

Paper is too thin
I purchased this to replace my old Canson sketchbook that I had used up. After I began using this new one, I noticed that the pages are far thinner than my previous Canson sketchbook. My drawings show through the back of each page, allowing only one side of each page to be usable.Pencil marks go through as far as 7 or so pages, making those pages unusuable unless I place some cardboard down beneath the page prior to drawing.Neither of the above were issues with my former Canson sketchbook. Next time, I would buy the heavier 95 lb. paper sketchbook, as the paper in this 65 lb. book is too thin for my purposes, rendering much of the pages unusable for me.

Paper is not 65 lbs!
There is no sticker on the front confirming details- and I would like some confirmation of the paper weight- it’s barely thicker than tissue paper. I can easily see my fingers silhouetted against the page when turning it- and will pose a significant risk of bleed thru if I use anything but pencil on this. I’ve bought Canson sketchbooks before and been very happy with the paper quality. There is no way this is 65 lbs paper.

Great paper, not the sturdiest cover.
Really love the paper quality - erases well, holds pen, pencil, and marker beautifully with limited smudging. My main complaint is the outer cover, two of the four corners were a bit bent when it arrived, but not enough for me to return it - except within a week of use, IE toting it around in my bag for six days - all four corners were bent. Seems like the cardboard and pleather cover is really weak. Not a dealbreaker, because I love the paper, the binding, paper weight, and overall size of the sketchbook, just beware if you want to have a pristine, durable cover maybe consider other options.

Great sketchbook!
This is a wonderful sketchbook! It is very portable, paper is a little thinner than expected but it was fine for graphite and charcoal. I don't think you should use this for watercolour or any heavy or wet mediums. It came earlier than expected which is always a plus. I really like this sketchbook. It's great for me, and i recommend it!

Good quality.
I have yet to use this sketchbook as the instructor in an art class I am taking seems to have requested more supplies than necessary. However, it will get used once spring and summer roll around as it is portable and discreet to carry.
