Audubon Dragonfly Squirrel Proof Tube Bird Feeder

These are good sturdy feeders that stand the test of time. I have 4 of them. Not cheap, but good value. All metal; can de disassembled for cleaning without a lot of trouble. When a squirrel jumps on the feeder his weight causes the exterior screen to move downward, covering all the ports. Since it's metal, squirrels can't chew their way in. Large birds, even flickers aren't heavy enough to close the ports. Holds a good deal of seed as well. Should be cleaned periodically.

I was a buyer of bird feeders etc. for a garden center. I tried out many feeders and this one has been the best for ease of filling and stands up to squirrels better than all others. This is my 2nd one. The first one was finally destroyed by squirrels but it lasted for 6 years. Much more durable than most.

This feeder hangs from our porch and the chickdees found it right away and enjoyed taking a seed to their favorite dining area. It is well designed and easy to fill. It's both squirrel and weather proof, so it's a joy to have without worry.Attractively designed, it complements our porch and home decor. Very good feeder at a sensible price.

Works well on keeping squirrels from eating my bird feed. I would prefer a larger diameter.

Really works! I have been amazed at how the squirrels have tried to get seeds out of this feeder and they have failed every time!

I love how much bird seed it can hold. It's cute and functional, and I love bird watching. The best part about it though has to be the fact that I hardly see squirrels around anymore. It successfully bamboozles them! They try to eat, but the feeding ports are too low for them to reach, plus if they hang off the side their weight pulls the gates down closing off the ports. It's awesome!

A bird got its head stuck in the feeder. At first I thought it was dead, but I soon realized it was still alive and very traumatized. I ended up calling the Humane Society and they sent officers to help the bird. Luckily, they were able to get the bird out, and the bird's neck seemed to be OK. But the bird was terrified, and I was terrified. This feeder is not safe for birds. The officers said it needs some kind of mechanism to keep them from reaching in so far. It has a flawed design if it's possible for birds to nearly hang themselves in it... Again, DO NOT BUY if you value the lives of the birds outside your home.

Appeared to be built well, great to keep squirrels out. The main problem as stated in other reviews. When the squirrel trys to feed and is locked out the mechanism sticks and is not releasing, not allowing the birds to feed. If this issue is corrected then I'll repurchase.
