Breaking Cat News 2018 Wall Calendar

Georgia has really outdone herself with this calendar!It is much larger than I thought it would be. Squares for dates are a nice size, and it doesn't just have a monthly picture to look at, oh no... it has little blurbs and semi comics of our favorite BCN trio. This is such a nice calendar, and it was packaged well, too!I am not normally someone who actually pays for a calendar... I usually just pick up a freebie from my bank or my mom sends me cute animal ones from the dollar store. But when I found out a Breaking Cat News calendar was coming out, I knew I had to have one.What's funny is my aunt beat me to the punch and sent me one since she had it pre ordered! I had planned on sending her one! So I have bought 2 as gifts so far. My daughter and my friend both LOVE theirs!! I will be purchasing several more as Christmas gifts for friends and family.And if BCN calendars come out every year, count me in! More than willing to buy these works of art.We have so enjoyed BCN, and the daily comics have made relationships with my family and friends closer. Who knew a comic about cats could do that?

Anyone who has ever had cats, or any pets, will laugh themselves silly over the antics of these three felines and their friends. (Some story arcs will break your heart.) Three talking cats in suits, with microphones, reporting the news from their cat perspectives. "The mailman: myth or reality," "This just in: the Woman is in the kitchen cooking bacon!" Etc. The watercolor art is wonderful, with so many "easter eggs" you will need a magnifying glass to find them all. Meet Elvis, the Siamese You Cannot Please; brave Puck, black with three legs; and adventurous Lupin, white, deaf, reads whiskers. Congratulations. You are in for a treat.

"Breaking Cat News" is the best new newspaper comic I've seen! I started following it when Georgia Dunn was making watercolor long-form stories on breakingcatnews.com - and now that she's marketed it to newspapers, it's still darned good. I'm so glad that she managed to make a living at this, so we can keep getting her marvelous artwork and stories.You should also check out her first (hopefully, there will be more?!) book,  Breaking Cat News: Cats Reporting on the News that Matters to Cats I'm planning on ordering the 2019 calendar as soon as she makes it available.

This calendar will be a joy to look at on a daily basis next year. "Breaking Cat News" is, by far, the best comic I've read in the last too many years. It brings joy and laughter despite what may be bothering you otherwise. You don't need to like cats to enjoy it and it certainly helps to understand them better. Georgia Dunn is the best thing that's happened to comics And Cats since Calvin and Hobbes. Thank you, Georgia, for bringing a touch of sanity into my frayed nerves.

I love it! This is my favorite comic strip and the only one that I care enough about to seek out and buy the calendar version. The cats, while given human characteristics (anthropomorphized), are still very true to real cat behavior. This comes through in the comic strip that this is based on as well as this calendar. If you enjoy cats and/or comic strips (especially Breaking Cat News), this calendar is exactly what you want for 2018.

If you haven't heard of her... Oh My Cat where have you been? Look her up on GoComics.. then buy the calendar.... and more kibble. (the cats made me add that part)

Watercolor was a big part of BCN's charm for me, and this calendar really lets me appreciate it. Plus it gifts me a lift whenever I see it, and reminds me to check the Breaking Cat News comic strip every day. Sometimes I use it to check the date, too.

Georgia's art is wonderful as always. The calendar is a nice size too. I've gotten two of them - one for my office and one for my significant other's office. I'll probably get some for people's holiday presents. If you love Puck, Elvis, and Lupin, you'll love this calendar!
