Eating brain foods
As I have gotten older my memory and concentration has declined somewhat and if foods will help me with that, I'm willing to try. The recipes in this cookbook are supposed to be brain healthy while being tasty and nutritious. Eating a variety of foods helps support balance, moderation and variety. I like the smoothies, especially the cashew and chocolate one, and the coconut shrimp. A fairly nice cookbook but I admit it's not for everyone.

OK, this is different
A cookbook that will help boost my brain activity? Sign me up! There is so much information out there about how to help your brain and foods I never would have thought of to increase brain function and activity. The recipes are not for those who are picky, like me. I would probably not eat most if not all these recipes...they are very low/no carb, vegan and not kid friendly at all, but if none of that bothers you, eat up!

Inspired
While not the direct work of A.W. this is inspired and the recipes look delicious. medical advice is abundant, cookbook recipes, rationale and instructions are well worth trying and seeing how your health improves with the authors' kitchen expertise.

Stay mentally sharp
As someone whose family battles with alzheimer's and dementia, I am always concerned about brain heatlh. One thing I had not considered was that diet can have such an impact on brain health. The beginning portions of this book make the case that incorporating these different foods can be positive. The author uses research by dieticians and scientists and explains different elements found in food (i.e. carotenoids, omega3s, antioxidants, etc.) and then uses research to explain why these are beneficial. Then there are some recipes that incorporate all these different compounds in delicious ways. I learned a lot from this book.

Deceptive Marketing
If you’re looking to heal and follow Medical Medium protocols, DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK! It’s recipes are filled with ingredients that could be making you sick. Like what, you ask. Tuna is filled with toxic metals like mercury, yet she has a recipe for tuna. Nutritional yeast and chocolate are also not helpful when chronically ill, but you’ll find recipes with those ingredients. You can not safely make any any of the recipes in this book without first checking every ingredient in the actual Medical Medium books, which defeats the purpose of having a dedicated and specialized cookbook. If you don’t care and are looking for a rather ordinary cookbook, then perhaps this one is for you. If you’re looking for recipes that follow the protocol, you’ll find many for free on the Medical Medium website. He also includes a rather sizable section with recipes in all of his books. You can easily create a customer menu with simple recipes without wasting money on this book.
