Big enough to hack away with abandon, small enough to carry with a rifle and not be in the way. Spine mohs hardness tested at 49, edge tested at 60. Factory edge good enough to go to work out of the box, honed up easy enough to shaving sharp. Sheath snap band will get cut off within the first week just by virtue of its location. The edge slides right across it on the draw. Being able to clip it onto a belt without undoing said belt to don it is a bonus. I added medium Loc-tite to the Chicago screws on the handle and re-installed. May wrap with silicone tape in the future. Worth the price I paid to be unkind to it? Yea.

After watching a YouTube video on this 6.1" blade knife, i desided to give this knife a try. I wanted a medium sized knife for some food prep and outdoor camping use. First, the price is very affordable. I have seen simular style knives going for at least 5 times the price. True, you get what you pay for. I have done light chopping, fire starting and other use and am quite satisfied. Blade thickness is adequate. Sure, if you want to break it you can find a way. But, this knife has held up great for me. Slices right through meat. Havent chopped much bone. I would rather the handle was mycarta. But, this walnut handle has beautiful grain. Nice hollow ground, jimping and lower finger stop is excellent. Way well worth the price.

Not sharp and does have a little edge damage from light work. Nothing crazy. I think it was decent out the box but lost its edge quick.

I had to reread some of the comments others made and laugh at them. Some said there blade wasn’t sharp, mine was. Came sharp enough to strip paper. Grip is comfortable, just what you want for a day’s work with a blade. Sheath is durable and provides adequate protection and safety for carrying. Very functional as a machete. So far no rust in the Florida humidity. Edge has held up well so far. Cutting sugar cane with it, and small bushes. Balance was surprisingly good too. Great deal for the price. If your life is going to depend upon it, think of it as a great alternative to the more expensive well known brands and honestly for a short term survival situation will probably be satisfactory, especially if you don’t have a big budget. But for this price point, this is a very rugged piece of gear that if used as intended as a chopper and knife will do you well. But like any gear, if misused it probably can be bent if you try hard enough to do so, though it would take some effort. And unless you’re repeatedly striking rocks and boulders with the edge it won’t chip or bend. Husband who is a big man and gorilla handles tools loves it. And that’s all that matters.

I need to preface that I haven't gotten to use it in the field as I just received it and will update this review once I do! I needed to Replace the BPS HK5 that I had gotten right when they came out as apparently some simple batoning using a hickory baton was just too much for it as it dented the spine and broke off the point. Hadn't used the knife much as I love my Mora but dang!! When I got it in and opened it up, I was surprised at how robust and sharp it was right out of the box. I enjoy the sheath as well. The leather accent is a nice touch. If this thing performs for being a sub $20 knife, I'm going to buy a few more! For a couple kits and a gift. This thing feels amazing!! Edit: Just got back from our camping trip. This knife is a must have. I battoned a good amount of my split oak firewood to make some kindling and it surpassed my expectations. I did some feather sticking and that too was great. Only thing that I observed was the scales came a bit loose after all the battoning but that's okay really. Just tightened them and everything was good. I'm purchasing another right now!!!

I like this but I have two complaints. One is it doesn't have a swell at the very back of the handle or a lanyard hole. In the other thing that I don't care for is it doesn't have like any kind of Molle straps to attach it to your gear and it has a really lousy belt clip. But I use some hockey tape for the handle if I was really going to use it I'd have to figure out something maybe use one of my other machete sheaths that are compatible. But it is a good thing You can dig a latrine with it, you can build a shelter, you can use it as a machete and it has a saw back which I like.

Pretty sharp out of the box, good size for a chopper or all purpose camp knife. To me it’s a little short for a machete insofar as cutting grasses, but it chops well and keeps an edge on initial testing. Good balance, sheath is good quality. Overall high marks for a budget banger, my biggest complaint is the handle scales were loose on arrival. Also needed a lanyard hole.
