Near identical clone (I own both this and the original)
As per the title, this is a near identical clone of the Friedman BE OD. I own both. Here's the breakdown:Build quality: the Friedman is clearly a higher quality unit. It's bigger and the knobs feel higher in quality (slightly stiffer to move but also smoother) that said, the demonfx is a well made pedal that still feels like quality. sound wise - almost identical amounts of background noise, certainly one isn't better than the other.Sound and tone - this is where it gets interesting. There is very, very, very little difference between them, and I'm not convinced I would hear it if I were blindfolded, HOWEVER, I do feel there is something slightly better about the Friedman BE OD than the Freedman BE ODX - the ODX sounds a little 'fluffier' but also fatter, like there's more low mids & low mid noise. This isn't the pushed 'high mid' brown sound. Arguably the harmonic response is slightly better and it feels slightly tighter, but honestly we're talking about the last 1/4% in sound difference, and it could easily be down to differences in trim pots/knob positions.Notable that having all the nobs at 12 on both pedals is a slightly different sound, but you can dial in the two to sound near identical. Having all pots fully open or closed, and any combination thereof, sounds near idenditcal, so it may just be the pots that sound different, though i suspect that it's actually the parts are slightly higher quality in the American original. Not a bad pedal at all, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.Ultimately this is made pointless on my pedal board by the REVV G3 / REVV G4 clones (demon fx R3 and R4) which are on another level, and good enough to make me go out and buy the originals... though I'll start with a G2

Yes it’s a clone but it’s a great sounding one no complaints from me about tone or build pleasantly shocked
