Great item. Secures pads and easy cleaning to nesting areas. I recommend using the pad.

As I researched these, I noticed that some people use them without anything on top of them. I use them to keep our coop able to be fully cleaned and keep smells out. I put down a single layer of pine pellets, then put these silicone pads on top of that (they are a perfect size of the nest box) , and then I use disposable nest pads on top of that for soft bedding. I really appreciate that I can take these out if anything gets under or through the disposable nest pads they are super easy to remove and wash off. I will mention that I also use zeolite spread throughout for odor control. I would definitely order these again and set it up the same way. I really like them. We had never had issues with eggs breaking, but I noticed that in some other comments. We use oyster show and do not have any fragile shells already so I can’t speak to that help.

Very pleased with my purchase. These nesting pads have lasted for 10 months and would recommend them. Just scrub and rinse. I put bedding on top and just change out the bedding when nests get dirty

My hens love these.

I was having trouble with breakage. When I placed these laying pads down, the breakage stopped. Hens adapted easily, but I covered them with straw as that is what they were used to. As to fit,They were a bit large but I cut them to size and used a regular pair of household scissors. It was easy. They wash up with the garden hose. The material is soft and flexible. It's perforated so it is breathable too. I think they are just right as to value.

They are great for keeping the nesting boxes cleaned easier. BUT we’ve had 3 broken eggs since I put them in yesterday. 😞 I might try double-lining them because I do like how easy they are to clean.

Ordered July 8th, delivered on July 11th. I chose the Lil'Clucker nesting pads rather than the disposable ones so I could (hopefully) buy once and be done. These have worked out great in the nesting box, paired with the My Favorite Chicken rubber nest eggs (which I also will review), the hens have consistently been laying in their nesting box, the eggs are clean, and the pad is a snap to clean. Toss it in the sink with warm soapy water, wash, rinse, dry, and put it back in the nesting box. It has worked well for me, with the girls sometimes climbing in the box two at a time to lay their eggs. (See picture) I have seen some negative reviews stating that the chickens won't use, or don't like these. I did spread a thin layer of pine shavings over the pad, along with the rubber eggs, for a few days, but once the hens got used to laying in their box, they use it every single day, and lay on the bare pad now with no complaints. I've never had a broken or dirty egg, and I would buy again, and I recommend these to anyone trying to train their hens to the nesting box. Our 4 Buff Orpingtons use them consistently every day.

I thought they were great but all of a sudden our eggs are cracked and the chickens keep eating the eggs!! Do not recommend!
