Brutal Prince: A Dark Mafia Romance (Brutal Birthright)

I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!
Brutal Prince is the first book I’ve read by Sophie Lark, and I’m dying to dig in further! This book was really brilliant; so much better than I was expecting.I’m scared when I read something by an author I’ve not yet heard of. I shouldn’t have expectations, but I do. I compare the work to other authors that I love. Well, this one blew me away! I loved Aida so much! She knew exactly who she was, didn’t take any crap from anyone, fought tooth and nail for the ones she loves and was just an all round bad a$$ chick! She has so much sass and some epic one liners! And Callum... phew! He is so much - jealous, possessive, dangerous, mean, stubborn and a straight up sex god! He takes what he wants, when he wants it.There’s a few things that sort of made me stop and think a little, but they weren’t a big deal. I still enjoyed this book so much!* I would’ve liked Callum to be a bit more mean and scary... he was supposed to be brutal, given the book title. He did a little too much pouting and feet stomping for a 30 year old mafia dude. The way didn’t really stand up to his father as a grown man kinda bugged me, I know his dad is technically his boss, but still.* There’s talk about these two having a family together at the beginning. I would’ve loved maybe an epilogue of them being parents. I think it would’ve been great! (Also, don’t forget to download the extra chapter at the end! It’s pretty darn steamy!)* Loads of stuff went down and people nearly died, some actually did! I would’ve liked to know where Aida’s dad was in all of this? There was no mention of him running to the hospital to check on his little girl. I just wonder why.Anyway, I totally recommend this book! It’s not terribly dark, but there are some scenes that might make some people squirm a bit. There’s drama, kidnapping, humour, fighting, a really good storyline and a lot of bumping uglies! It’s a perfect blend of everything!

I enjoyed this! It was a fun and interesting read.Aida was a good fmc and Callum was hot, demanding and possessive. However, Aida really was the highlight of this book. She was wild, carefree and honest just herself. She didn’t put on any hairs nor graces for anyone or try to be someone she wasn’t. I loved seeing how sharp, attentive and intelligent she was. Aida definitely was not someone who stands by her husbands side while he conducts business. No, she was helpful, took point by offering knowledge and advice.I can’t leave without mentioning the infamous wedding scene—where Aida knowingly gave Callum an allergic reaction by eating strawberries beforehand 🤭“The great Callum Griffin. He’s their JFK, and I’m supposed to be their Jackie Kennedy. I’d rather be Lee Harvey Oswald.” — if this doesn’t perfectly describe Aida’s character then I don’t know what will 🍓Even though I enjoyed Brutal Prince, I was a bit disappointed by how fast the romance came into it. For an enemies to lovers, arranged marriage romance book I would have preferred if there was a bit more resistance before either of the characters gave in. However, this didn’t take away from the story and I’m definitely not complaining about how Callum became infatuated with Aida.

Absolutely devoured this one !!!!
To say that I loved this book was an understatement and it lived up to every one of my hopes ☺️Aida was fiesty, fiery and lovable. I loved how she was able to hold her own when with Callum and she truly is one of my favourite MMC’s .(I especially loved the strawberry kiss scene 😏)Callum was broody and uptight and honestly hated the idea of being married to Aida but after they connected and worked together he lightened up and turned soft for her. There was some character development which added to the story and the plot was 10/10. 🔥🔥I am honestly so excited to read this series and honestly anything by Sophie Lark . (Absolutely slays)I would highly recommend this one 😍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

Mild side of dark romance.
Well written book, but not for me. While I love Aida, she gave in and handed herself over to a man she supposedly hates at the first chance she got. I like my books with more angst and a heroine that puts up resistance, puts up a fight and makes the man work hard and earn her body. But the sex scenes are HOT!It really is well written with solid and engaging characters. 3.5 stars and worth reading if you like the milder side of dark romance.

10/10
So good, I’m a sucker for every trope in this! They truly balance each other out. It’s an easy read and keeps you interested at all times. Between the romance and the action I was able to read this in a few days even though I’m a slow reader.

Enemies to lovers
Aida & Callum. Enemies to lovers in every sense of the word. These two can drink each other's blood. But I mean who wouldn’t hate someone that burns down your library, tries to poison you oh yeah and there is this wax thing and strawberries. On the other hand I stand with Aida and would have done the same thing ( well, except for the library thing off course). It’s a fun read that ignites quickly, so no slow burn over here, smutty scenes, unexpected understanding, romance, love, mafia elements, a kidnapping, rivals that need to be held in check, a new bond between rival families and a fierce FMC who knows her way around dangerous, dominant and possessive men. Aida is a FMC you will love instantly if you like a badass, kinda tomboy woman who isn't afraid of anything that comes her way. She will tackle it first hand and knows who will have her back.
