Large Robust and Durable!
The mortar is really heavy and large in size, the weight means it stays put when crushing any ingredients.Great for making fresh pesto, crushing up nuts and spices, and making marinades and pastes. The mortar is 20cm in diameter, so you can make up large batches of curry pastes in one go. The pestle is ergonomic but also heavy, perfect for its purpose. The best and worse feature is the sheer weight, heavy is great when in use, but also a bit of a hindrance when washing and storing.I note that there are other pestle and mortars that seem a lot lower in price, however, I do believe you will always pay a bit more for top-quality items.

Heavy and robust - easy to use and clean
☑️ As described and as advertised.☑️ Well packaged and well presented this would make an excellent gift idea for friends and family perhaps as a housewarming gift or just if they enjoy home cooking and experimenting with recipes.☑️ Tefal is a good brand with an excellent reputation for kitchenware.☑️ Easy to use and easy to clean.☑️ Available in two sizes so pick the one the best suit your requirements.☑️ This is heavy but on the plus side it keeps the mortar sat stationary on the kitchen worktop. We wouldn’t necessarily recommend this or any other pestle and mortar for people with dexterity issues. Electric food processors take a lot of the elbow grease out of food prep, but there is something to be said about grinding your own spices or making your own sauces from scratch including using a pestle and mortar

Tefal jamie oliver pestle and mortar 20cm
So the description states this is a:-Tefal jamie oliver pestle and mortar, granite, grey, 20cm, K1823255.*** Finally worked out which is which:- * The pestle is the tool you have in hand to crush and grind things etc… * The mortar is the bowl. Not just for decoration we actually used it for the first time on christmas eve to help with preparing the different christmas meats for dinner.*** Release flavours:- * Smash:- Tender ingredients like basil leaves and pine nuts etc… * Bash:- Large seeds or spices and tough nuts * Grind:- For smooth spice blendsIt's heavy and certainly not going anywhere when being used.I think it's going to last forever and end up being passed down the generations because it is a solid piece of granite. The price at the time of this review is £36.48So far so goodBut I will update this review if needed.*** Detail's:- * Size:- 20cm * Made of:- Granite * Colour:- Gray * Brand:- Tefal * Product Dimensions:- 22 x 22 x 19 cm * Weight:- 6.3 Kilograms

Massive!
Check your measurements as this was way bigger than I was expecting. It is also super heavy so be prepared. It seems well made and great for making larger amounts of stuff. I’ve just made some pesto in it and the extra room makes it easier to get the consistency you want. I’m not sure I will use it enough to justify the same it takes up but if you use one all the time then you’ll be happy,. Very textured inside which makes it a little harder to clean.

Large and good quality - Coarse bowl - Substantial weight
This is definitely designed more for larger scale cooking due to the size of the bowl and the coarseness this will still leave a little bit of texture if you are grinding things like nuts and spices. Due to the closeness of the ball you will find there maybe some remnants that remain on the bowl which aren't particularly easy to recover. I think depending on the quantity I was cooking and what it was in particular I was cooking would dictate whether I would use this or a more traditional smoother bowl. It's a solid piece that will last a lifetime just be very careful if you have a tiled floor as both the pestle and mortar would unquestionably smash a tile if dropped.

Genuinely surprised and impressed.
I was genuinely surprised and impressed with the quality of the Jamie Oliver and Tefal Pestle & Mortar. The 20 cm mortar is a lovely size and has a nice heavy weight to it, which has a polished exterior and an unpolished granite bowl that measures 15 cm in width and 9 cm in depth. The granite pestle also has a nice weight to it and it measures 19 cm in length, it has a polished handle that measures 11 cm in diameter at the top of the handle and gradually gets thicker to 16 cm at the unpolished end. The thickness of the pestle makes it nice and comfortable to grip and the weight of the pestle and mortar makes it easier to crush nuts, pound garlic into a paste, smash ginger and grind spices into powders. Overall I think this is a lovely product and I would happily recommend, as I personally think it’s very reasonably priced at £34.62 for its size, weight and quality.
