Invacare Compatible Mesh Full Body Sling with Commode Opening - Large 450 lb. (204 kg) max

My Brother only weighs 170 and is no longer able to move his body and support his weight. I created a Hoist from his bedroom to the Bath across the hall and upon the second use of it, while pushing the hoist from his room to the bathroom the Mesh Sling Snapped and Dropped my Brother.I had to take him to Doctor and now, it's even harder to care for him because of the pain! He has Stage 5 Parkinson's. This is NOT COOL!He dropped because the sewing on the smallest loop came undone. Now my brother is hurt so much. FAILURE at a cost that made him and I cry.It took me about an hour to figure out how to get him off the floor.

The product does not function properly. While we were lifting my grandmother and the product busted at the seams and my grandma fell through and broke her leg. Do not buy!!

The sling actually works well once you figure it out. The instructions are for if you have a staff of people, but you can do it by yourself. With the elderly person on the floor, have them sit up. Then, place the butt strap on the floor directly behind them and kneel on the ends of the strap. Your knees keep the strap from sliding and puts you in a perfect position to slide the person backward onto the strap. After that, it's only a few minutes to get the chains hooked up and away they go! The position of the strap tends to rock the person backward further into the chair, so worries about the patient falling out are less than one would expect. No complaints about comfort, the strap doesn't cut into the body.

Replaced older slings. They are just like ones we've paid more for. It is larger, which caused us to make some adjustments to how high we take her and the way we get her in the chair. She is just under 5 foot and about 280 pounds. It lifts her just fine and goes from her head to the middle of her calves. The material is thin enough to leave it under her all day without causing sweating, chafing or discomfort.

I have used both the net without the "potty opening" and the one with the opening. Both are easy to use and the one with the opening is perfect if the patient is unable to sit up or stand. Transport to portable potty in the net and sit patient without having to remove the net. I was my husbands full time care giver and would have had a very difficult time without both nets!

I've been using Invacare for many years I have several products of those in my home I've used a Hoyer lift for many years they're very reliable and very reputable as a company I would highly recommend trying this lifting sling if you're looking for a new one
