Flaked Black Truffle Sea Salt 70g

I have gone truffle mad. I love the taste and the aroma. This was the product that got me onto this path. As soon as you crack open the lid you can’t help but close your eyes and float in the aroma that envelops your senses. It’s premium and luxurious and I highly recommend it.

The taste is lovely, deep and savoury. It adds 'umami' to everything you use it on. However it is very hard to find a grinder which will grind this salt. I have tried four already, all ceramic and adjustable, and even on the coarsest setting the flakes are too fine and clog up the grinder.This is annoying because the flakes turn out to be too big for sprinkling without oversalting the food, but too small for grinding! I am still looking for a salt mill capable of dealing with this size of flakes.UPDATE: I have found a suitable mill! The T&G 'Crushgrind' mechanism, when at its loosest, is capable of grinding this very wet salt. I would think that another of the range would work as well.I have now given 5* to the product.

Love truffle salt! Great on ciabatta with olive oil in the oven! Not cheap - but anything with truffle is expensive!

Disappointed in this product sadly. Has a very chemically smell to it that I'm not quite sure on. Doesn't add anything new to dishes that regular good salt doesnt already.It is a very small tub, but should last a while with moderate use.Timely delivery etc

Would buy another one as soon as this one is finished. Lovely truffle flavour (not just smell, some of these truffle flavoured things often only ever smell of truffle) and the flaky salt is an added bonus.
