An absolutely essential piece of backcountry gear
Bought these for my first alpining trip and man, I'm blown away. I trudged through (no kidding) 2' to 4' snow drifts, snow-showing to a high mountain lake and these kept my boots and legs dry and protected over several days of use. Even after many, and I mean MANY falls and slips into deeper snow / snowmelt and even river crossings my boots and I were cool and dry.I used the sizing chart listed on the OR website and these fit my legs like a premium glove. They aren't loose and baggy like cheaper gaitors, they are form-fitting and secure. Before purchasing, I watched a YouTube review by ALindsu describing how the design of these hasn't changed at all in the last 20 years he's had his, only the materials have been upgraded. Now I see why. If you are looking for leg gaitors, these are the ones to get for serious backcountry adventuring and are absolutely worthy of the premium price tag.

Sizing for Medium
The Medium size is perfect for any hunting boot size 9-12 . I use the Cabela's by Meindl tall Gortex boot, size 10, and after some minor adjustment they are a perfect fit at the base of my boots and are very adjustable at the top.If you just got these and are fitting them for use, start at the bottom. I adjusted the underside strap to 8 notches and the bottom section of the Velcro matched up perfectly and attaching the bottom loop to my laces tightened it perfectly around the base.Seal the Velcro from the bottom up, then tighten the cinch at the top to make sure it will stay in place. This starts fairly wide but can be tightened down fairly easily. I use mine to tromp through sage and fallen trees as well as snowy areas up to your knees. Even long hop through streams without my socks ever seeing a drop.Hope this info is helpful as I had a hard time picking out the right gaiter. If you are looking for something for hunting and stalking animals, I suggest something quieter.

They Run Large
Bullet-proof gators, for tromping around in the snow and brush. These are the best, and good-looking to boot (see what I did there?). I wear a men's size 10 US boots, but I bought the Medium because I have small calves; they're even a little big on me, but they fit perfectly around my boots. So if you're considering buying some for the first time, consider the medium size and ask yourself, "are my calves bigger or smaller than average?" Then go up or down a size accordingly. Only people with really unusual shoe sizes will need to think about their shoe size first, and their calve size second. Of course this is all just my method which, like I said earlier, isn't perfect. I hope this helps! Have fun out there!

Don't hike without these
Dont know now i managed to hike so long without gaiters, well I won't be hiking without these again, the gore-tex has held up to constant puddle side hikes as to see if I can wet my boots, not yet and ive had water 3/4 way up gaiter and nothing ever gets into my boots, part of boots where gaiter covers is also cleaner as it doesn't get the exposure as the rest of the boot, highly recommend

These help a great deal, but they're not perfect
These help a great deal, but they're not perfect. My use is search and rescue. I purchased these a while ago but waited so that I could try them out in a field exercise. I took them through a creek about 4 times and through thickets, including several patches of devils club plants. They survived all efforts unscathed and any time they got wet, they were dry in minutes and my legs were dry. Their only weakness is that they do not conform enough around a shoe to prevent water from creeping up and over the top of the shoe. In this case, I had "waterproof" boots that after the second creek crossing had me nearly waterlogged. I spent the next 5 hours of the day wandering through the woods on a navigation course during 20 degrees F and wet feet. This may have been the failure of the boot, but the design of the gaiter didn't mitigate much either in that regard. I would say in a downpour, or for straight up protection from brush, these would be the pick every time. I'll continue to wear them too - but if someone tells me I've got to walk through water higher than mid-boot, then I'm not counting on these to keep my feet dry. My legs, however, will be fine.

I wear a size 8 and the mediums fit perfectly
These kept the snow out of my boots and fit perfectly. I wear a size 8 and I got the medium. With the Velcro strip and the plastic stirrup they fit and stayed in place every time I put them on. Don't know how it kept snow out of my boots, but I tromped around the Crazy Mountains in MT for a few days and had no issue. Definitely recommend this if you are getting into shin to knee deep snow. Probably the best item I have purchased, kept the tops of my boots clean and ice/snow free can't recommend these enough.

Fantastic!
These really are the gold standard for gaiters. They may be a bit more expensive than other brands, but I have spent many hours trudging through feet of snow and have never had anything make its way into my boots. The closures work very well. Despite heavy use for a year, I have yet to see any signs of wear. Can't recommend these enough.

Worth Every Penny
These things are worth every penny. Have worn them hiking, snowshoeing, and summiting major peaks in the Olympics and Cascades. The snow is often heavy, wet, and deep here in Washington and these things have kept me dry every time. Only thing I would note is about sizing. I am a runner and have long legs. They size them by your shoe size but the adjustable strap around your calf is, in my opinion, more important in keeping them secure. I bought the mediums and am just barely able to cinch them tight enough around my calves.

Bisschen Star, aber sonst gut
Bisschen umständlich anzuziehen. Fallen groß aus hab sie in M genommen. Der passt bei 1,76m und Schuhgröße 43 gut.
