Sci-Fi Revoltech #044 THUNDERBIRDS 2

Outstanding, In 2000, I was in a club in Manchester, and the owner had his Gerry Anderson collection on show in a display cabinet. Although it was in a very used condition, the 1960s die cast metal Thunderbird 2 was undoubtedly the centre piece of this collection. I was mesmerised and there and then I was determined to have my own collection and I wanted a Thunderbird 2 in it. Fast forwarding to 2015,I have a good collection of vintage Gerry Anderson collectables, but alas no Thunderbird 2. Until now, after 15 years of waiting I finally have my Thunderbird 2. Was it worth the wait ? Oh yes. The 1960's model is a classic and would grace any collection. However, this version is better, this is the Thunderbird 2 as seen in the tv show. Sci-Fi Revoltech have recreated this majestic aircraft in all it's glory down to the last detail . Thunderbirds are most definitely Go!!!

It's Been an Incredible 50yrs since This iconic craft First soared across our TV screens. From The late 60s-70s Generation of us all When we first saw Thunderbirds All of The Thunderbirds crafts have been lodged in our memories never To be forgotten But lets be Honest here Thunderbird 2 was always our favourite wasn't it. The Model I say Model I would not class This as a Toy captures faithfully The jolly Green giant That is Thunderbird 2 search The Amazon site and you can find Numerous Models of Thunderbird 2 for me some I have viewed The colour is not right Too light or The markings are not correct I must say The model we have here is one of The closest I have seen To The real Thing Everything just seems right about it. When you first remove The Model from its packaging it Does feel Fragile But really it's Tougher Than it looks You feel a bit on edge when you pull down The four landing legs Which enable your model to stand Because you do feel they are going to snap and break But Trust me again sturdy Than They look. This TV Landmark craft can be Displayed Three ways you can just have it standing freely on it's four landing legs you Have The option of removing The very famous pod The Door flaps open to reveal your Tiny Thunderbird 4 again with The rest of The model still standing on it's legs or you can Display your model with landing legs Tucked in on your build stand to give The illusion of Thunderbird 2 in flight. This was The only real Head scratcher for me any instructions you get with your model are all in Japanese Trying to fathom out how to put The stand together even following a Diagram was a bit frustrating I finally got it but you Don't really need it The Model looks Great free standing on it's landing legs with or without The pod. As I mentioned earlier This is more model Than toy Great for Displaying But if you are Tempted to Take her into The Danger zone on a rescue mission in your Garden with your children I Don't Think International Rescue would even be able to Help you Best as a Display Model use your Di cast model for The rough stuff. If you love Thunderbird 2 and want to own a model look no further Than This. The iconic Television series as just celebrated 50yrs Products like This will ensure Thunderbirds into The Next 50yrs. Happy Birthday Thunderbirds.

I was quite disappointed with this model to be honest. Firstly, It is very lightweight, I thought for the price it was going to be more sturdy probably made with the same dense plastic as the Konami models. It is not assembled very well either, you can see dried glue on some of the joints. The pod is not easily removed, kept in place by plastic lugs. I opted to leave the landing legs off this meant using the supplied landing pads to cover the holes. One of these on my model will not stay in place so had to glue it on. Having said that it is a nice enough model, but lacks finesse. Not worth the money. You would be better off with the Konami smaller version.

If you were a kid growing up in the 70s , than watching international rescue's incredible machines in action on a Saturday morning was a must see . And when Thunderbird 2 took off from Tracy Island you were hooked to the TV screen . With this detailed model of this iconic craft , the memory's come flooding back .If your a Thunderbirds fan than this model is a must buy . I guarantee you'll be taking this Thunderbird 2 in to action yourself .

If you ignore the light weight material the model is made of, the quality of the detail is simply excellent and easily rivals that of any of the other formal diecast collectors display models in my collection.

Delivery from Japan was, as you'd probably expect, a little slow so you need to be patient. It's worth the wait though.The easy-view packaging allows you to see the item without first having to remove it from the box.It's plain to see that Kaiyodo have got the colour-match right with the correct shade of green for TV, unlike some other brands out there who shall remain nameless.The pod is removable from the main craft to release a tiny Thunderbird 4, tiny being the key word here.The item comes with a small stand and nameplate, this really helping to show the item in all its glory. It's a nice touch.This is a great item for those who want to either play with, or display, their own Thunderbird 2 but without spending a fortune on one.Overall, I'm particularly pleased with my purchase. It didn't cost a fortune and looks great when on a display shelf.It's just a shame Kaiyodo didn't get to produce more craft from the Gerry Anderson fleet. Imagine how good they'd look all displayed together......

A very well made modle detail amazing but be careful the legs are very easy to break as this happened to me.

Not for small child very flimsy.

Nicely detailed model. Has an optional stand.
