STOP THE OVER EXFOLIATING MADNESS!
I bought this a while ago, tried and and felt it was too thick for my face, I've struggled with acne since I was 20. This will not cause you to breakout.Early this year I got something called Perioral Dermatitis. It's a skin infection around mouth and corners of nose, caused by several things like steroid creams, fluoride in toothpaste but mine was from overuse of retinA (strips your microbiome) and applying a face mask that has bacteria on it. I kept my face mask in my jacket pocket along with cash and coins. GROSS, I know. Everything irritates it, antibiotics is what my Dermatologist prescribed. I didn't take them, instead I stopped using all face products and only used Ohhiras soap and cream and I finally see it disappearing. My doctor said it will likely resurface in times of stress (it's related to eczema), I need to be gentle on my skin. Rules from Doc, no harsh soap or acids, use zinc and azeleic acid, yogurt mask help. PS It worked really well on a burn, my daughters acne and her dry chapped hands from overuse of sanitizer. I get super dry skin in the winter, keratosis pilaris on the back of my thighs. I use lactic acid lotions and dry brushing to no avail, I really identify with Ethan Hawk in Gattaca. I took DrOhhiras cream and applied it without doing anything else, after four applications my legs are bump free and supple. I hate how good this works, at $30 for 1.5 ounces it's just so hard to afford. I tried the Gallinee lotion with no results.

Great for aging skin
I've been using this for about 6 years and it is an irreplaceable product in my daily routine.I have aging skin and I live in a high elevation, semi arid environment. I'm drying out faster than a prune in the desert. It is the only moisturizer that combats dryness all day long.I grew up in the age of oil-free facial products (and fat free cookies. WTF). Oily stuff was supposed to be the work of the devil and avoided at all costs. Yeah no that's wrong. When you squeeze Ohira's out, it is thick and oily. You only need about a smaller, pea-sized amount for your face. It takes a bit to absorb into your skin and it feels so good. I never have issues with breakouts. My wrinkles remain minimal. My skin never feels tight from dryness. It does mess with mascara, so I try to avoid getting it on my lashes on makeup-y days.I would say one tube lasts about 3 months for face-only use.My one downside...having learned recently about this ingredient, tho it's been used traditionally in Japan for centuries, my conscience is struggling with the equine oil base, not knowing how humanely these animals may or may not be treated. My research has not yet turned up an alternate product that matches the composition of human skin as well as this does. So, the jury is out.

Interesting product
This is a nice moisturizer, but it has a waxy feel to it. It was okay and did not cause any breakouts, but this is probably better for oily skin than for dry skin.

Great for sensitive skin
I love this lotion/cream, I can actually use near my eyes without triggering my eczema.
