It takes a while to get used to any new toaster - you have to find the correct position of the switch so as to get the right colour toast for you. It actually took me quite a few days, but now it's perfect. There are two things I love about this toaster - one is that you can lift the toast to see if it's done, without stopping the programme, and it toasts both sides equally when you're only doing one slice - something other toasters I've had have never been able to do, including my last Russell Hobbs toaster. It also looks very smart. Best toaster I've ever had!

My two preceding toasters were long slot models as I like buying artisan breads. The first lasted eighteen months and the second, of a different make, lasted thirteen months - just out of guarantee!! Both were expensive and both toasted unevenly. Decided that I was going back to a conventional small toaster, from a long established brand. Very glad that I did. This little piece of kit does exactly what it promised. It toasts very evenly and very fast - even with bread straight from the freezer. It is easy to clean and was very reasonably priced. Thank you Russell Hobbs! I also bought the Russell Hobbs electric kettle a couple of weeks later.

After months of research, going from shop to shop with a template of a large slice of bread. I found this toaster. I didnt want to pay a lot of money for a toaster, and I didnt want loads of gadgets. My template was too long for even the very expensive toasters. I found this one but it was out of stock in the shop so bought via Amazon. Brilliant toaster and no longer an untoasted strip or burnt fingers when turning the bread.

This toaster is brand new so I can't do a full review, but I have just toasted my first piece of toast in it.To start with, I turned it on max (6) and, without any toast in it (as instructed), I let it go through the cycle with the window wide open. It does smell a bit of dust and you do need to do this before toasting anything in it.I then put my ready slice of Hovis Seed Sensations, a fairly thick slice, on a setting of 2.5 and it toasted equally on both sides - much to my surprise based on earlier reviews. It could do with a bit more so I toasted it again on 1.5 and it was perfectly lightly toasted on both sides.The main reason for me doing a review this early, is I that I was amazed how the parcel was delivered - see photo attached.It came just in the Russell Hobbs toaster packaging with just a small strip of tape over the opening lock. No outer wrapping at all to hide what it was.I had only been back home from a walk for 10 minutes when this was delivered and, if I hadn't been there, this parcel telling the world what it was, would have just been left sitting on my doormat. The driver was already back in his van when I had got to the front door so he wasn't hanging around to see if a neighbour was going to take it in instead.I really can't remember ever receiving a parcel too big for the letterbox as unwrapped as this.Protection-wise, the toaster was sandwiched between egg box style packing inside the carton which meant it was unlikely to be damaged though the outer carton is just card about 1mm thick, not thick corrugated, and could easily have been badly dented (which it was a bit on the corners).Toasted appears all good though and looks very smart and doesn't take up much space on my worktop.

The title says it all really. After searching for a toaster that has slots long enough (not talking about width for bagels etc) to fit an ordinary slice of bread in eg Warbutons, Kingmill this is the one. It’s simple, if that’s all you’re aiming to do ie toast your slice of bread for breakfast and it’s quick. Fair enough like others I have tried/researched one side does get slightly browner than the other but not an issue. What I don’t understand is why do toaster manufacturers not have standard size slots. Large slice bread has been around a long time (mother’s pride for example back in the day!)

Decent price. Purchased to replace a 4-way toaster. Toasting is variable but okay. The inner side definitely browns more than the outer but a flip for 10 seconds to finish off works well enough. It’s a good looking toaster, straightforward to clean but have never seen the led lamp come on once. At the end of the day it does its job adequately if not spectacularly.
