I'm not an expert at sewing, but have done some over the years both by hand and with various machines.I had a small sewing job I wanted to try and couldn't be bothered to borrow my mums really old, really heavy Singer.This got some reasonable reviews and stated it was suitable for beginners...It arrived promptly and I was keen to get going. First up, the instructions are not great. Poor English and not massively helpful. My advice, find a YouTube video to help set it up, with regards to how to thread the yarn etc.Make sure you know which way to put your material under the foot. The wrongside faces the bottom and it will sew towards you. Most sewing machines I have used, you sew away from yourself.When you finish your row, THIS IS IMPORTANT if you don't secure your stitching, they will unravel straight away. You will need to tie a knot. Again, there are some useful YouTube videos that show the best way to do this.I found it quite difficult to sew straight. It tends to go where it wants. The unfortunate thing is, you need one hand to hold the machine- the bottom is not flat enough for it to sit on a surface.I had such high hopes for my little sewing project, but thus far, I've been massively frustrated and used lots of thread and offcuts of material just practising the best way to do it.I also found that thicker material is problematic, I had a piece of cotton doubled over for a double hem and the needle got jammed.In theory, this seems like a great piece of kit and some of the YouTube users seem quite adept at working it. I will keep practising, so don't expect to be able to just take it out of the box and be sewing away like an expert... it's unlikely to happen.Photo shows my best effort at straight line, to date. You can also see the many holes along the opposite side where it pulled undone....on numerous occasions..

The media could not be loaded.  Shape and material is good and has a good grip, but unfortunately it does not get the job done as it does not stitch properly at all.

Do not waste your money and take all of the 'good reviews' with a pinch of salt!

This handheld sewing machine is ready to use out of the box with the thread already put in place. There's just a switch to turn it on and off plus a dial to manually adjust the height of the needle up or down, making it really simple to utilise. You get a bag of extra thread, a measuring tape, scissors and safety pins which are useful. Being so portable I can take it to the items and garments that need repairing, rather than setting up my large sewing machine and bringing the materials to it which is so convenient. I've managed to fix a ripped pocket on my jumper with ease. I'm quite pleased with this item as it now makes sewing a doddle.

I am super impressed with this little gadget! Compared to a hand sewing needle, this sewing machine makes sewing much quicker and more effective. The stitches come out even good. That is an absolute saver of time. Highly recommend!

Its really lightweight and easy to use and quite handy. I used this small machine to alters my baby's clothes . I loved it because its portable and I can take it anywhere and use it when my baby is around.
