I had bought a Procter Silex drip coffee machine about 16 years ago after I had went through coffee makers that were fizzled out after only 2 years. Needless to say, we are all coffee drinkers, and that pot is going almost nonstop. Well, I would say about 12 years later it finally fizzled out. Of course, another Procter Silex was the only thing I'd buy. The model was discontinued, I bought another one.....unfortunately and brainlessly I forced a nylon filter into it, making the basket beand then leak, that i had to place it on an angle to make coffee. I felt so bad but kept it for a year.... then I bought this one to replace it.I think this coffee maker will outlive me. It is a solid piece of work, no loose buttons, nice blue digital clock, and I bought the RIGHT size filter. I treat this thing like a god idol.....lol.I am sure the company may have taken the one I broke back to salvage that "engine", but I needed a bigger model anyway.I would also like to mention I had a toaster (from the same company) that lasted 11 years.Just treat them good, and they'll treat you better.

This is my perfect coffee maker. It does everything I need. The construction is solid. I cannot for the life of me understand where the comments regarding the spout dripping come from. I have no such issue. The coffee is hot and flavorful, the machine brews really fast and the warming plate keeps the coffee really warm. I was going through a Hamilton Beach coffee maker a year due to the warming plate rusting out. Hopefully this one lives up to its claims about not rusting. I will update as necessary.

Made the mistake and changed out the coffee pot and tried to upgrade from our normal $30 with timer model. I have always known, but let it slide this time, but spending more on an item does not mean getting better. My husband has to heat his in the microwave and he pours his almost as soon as it finishes. He. Makes mine in my yeti cup as he has for a few years, it is Luke warm from beginning to end. Definitely not heating. It is a fast brew machine, maybe that is why it’s not hot.

It's certainly not a speedy brew, but it's adequate. With the very shallow frontal fill area, if you're not pouring slowly and carefully there's considerable splash back. I thought the front fill would be easier, but I can pour much more quickly with a rear fill or a reservoir/well coffee maker. I fill my cup over the sink because, inevitably, the pot does not pour cleanly into the cup. I've had it a week and so can't really say how easy it is to clean. However, regardless of cost, I've ordered a different pot and as soon as it arrives this one is going in the trash.
