Fantastic Read!!
This author has gave us another fantastic read. Zach and Phoenix had one heck of story to give us and they gave it all. I love how these two embedded themselves in my brain and heart....all I could think about was them.

A Satisfying Suspense Story Featuring Familiar Characters
In a bit of a departure from her usual style, author V.F. Mason sends us on an adventure with some familiar characters that is definitely not as dark as the majority of Mason's works. Whereas it is usually the main characters who are either going through trauma or causing the trauma, in this story Phoenix and Zachary (the main characters from The Land Where Sinners Atone) must help the FBI figure out what happened to the three daughters of a murdered man, when the accused murder refuses to talk to anyone but Dr. Phoenix King. Parts of the story seem like they belong in an episode of Criminal Minds, with Dr. King attempting to psychoanalyze the accused and other possible suspects. With shared narrations of Phoenix, Zachary, and the unsub, the novel is well written and will keep you in suspense until that plot resolves near the end of the book. It also gives us a look into life for Phoenix, Zachary, and their family after The Land Where Sinners Atone and sets the scene for at least one or two more books based on other characters. While you could read this by itself, reading The Land Where Sinners Atone first will give you insights into the characters and will allow a much deeper reading experience, since the events in that book are discussed many times during this story.

Great romantic suspense
Zachary and Phoenix together again in this mystery thriller. Phoenix uses her heart and her skills to find a unsub holding three young girls. But the clock is ticking. This story follows both solving a case as well as a revisit into a couple’s love and forgiveness. In this book two, I got the atonement I so sought from Zachary in book one in which Phoenix’s sweetness felt taken advantage of, and her understanding and generosity too easily given. The couple’s devotion comes full circle, with some precocious twins, a mature, sweet daughter, and an often flustered nanny. The antics of the twins, reminiscent of Zach, were funny. Characters stayed true to form: Zach was still a billionaire, powerhouse alpha, but not to his family and everyone was ever protective of Phoenix.Multiple, first-person points of view, it was nice to read about a mature, successful couple, particularly the heroine who was a master in her field. I also liked the complexity of the plot line encompassing both the couple’s lives with all the feels and crime solving. This book was spicy, too. (3.75/5) Great balance of sexy and plot.Just a bit of overabundance of scenic descriptiveness and not so original a crime theme, but overall a great book. The vivid characters and depiction of their emotions were the story’s strongest and most compelling highlights, in addition to a romantic happy ever after. Some interesting side characters, too, including the unsub, and I can’t wait to read what stories come next.

This was the ending I had needed
This story takes us on a heart-pounding journey of suspense that kept me guessing, flipping pages, and then slowing down because I didn't want it to end.I was constantly battling my inner child to keep her from peeking ahead just to make sure.Phoenix has been called in to help with a profile, only she wasn't given all the facts. The unsub targeted her specifically and used her weakness to ensure she plays the game.3 girls72 hrs to find themAnd she must return to her past to get the cluesThis has it allSuspenseSteam... these two are combustible togetherTwists you won't see comingAngstA love that will stand against any trialand ForgivenessThis was the ending I had needed after their first storyThe Land Where Sinners Atone (TLWSA)-I so wanted to understand how Phoenix saw Zachary. How Zacahry felt knowing he was the cause of those scarsHow she could love him after everythingHow she was able to put those years and the horrors behind her?Her forgiveness and love for him make so much more sense to me now#CoupleGoalsV.F. Mason is one of my top anti-hero, thriller romance writersShe never fails to captivate meHer characters and their journeys stay with me long after I close the pagesThis can be read as a standalone but I wholeheartedly suggest reading TLWSA first

3 and a half stars
I was really looking forward to this book after re-reading The Land Where Sinners Atone.I was hoping that it would be in similar vein to it as I love the psychological twists that the author sprinkled throughout both. But for me personally I found that those got rushed through with this one, (or in some cases not cleared up at all), just so this sickeningly sweet couple could fall back into bed.Which is a shame as she started many plot threads that intrigued me.In saying all of this it was still a good book that kept me turning pages, just wasn't what I was expecting.

Loved it!
I was so overjoyed to touch base with Zachary and Phoenix again. It is interesting to see a couple so in love struggle with life and past issues. This story was dark and full of suspense. And beautifully written by this talented author, I love this series. I can’t recommend this series highly enough!

Sinners can love
Phoenix and Zachary have come a long way since their beginning sad story. The couple finally get to enjoy life with their twins and a teenage daughter. Phoenix goes undercover to save three girls from being trafficked which is highly dangerous for all. Good read and ending for this couple.

didn’t realise how much I missed these 2 💗💗
For me this was Phoenix and Zachary’s Atonement Epilogue. We get to see what happened to this amazing duo (Phoenix with her compassion, mercy and empathy towards others and Zachary “The Cruel King of New York” who will do anything and everything for his family).TLWSL has 2 storylines one each for P&Z, with P we know the outcome, however with Z we are left wondering what happened but there’s a reason behind it and I cannot wait for May!

Fantastic
We meet Phoenix and Zach again in this book Phoenix is now one of the top psychiatrist in the world. When Noah the FBI profiler contacts her to look at a case and meet the suspect Phoenix never imagined she would once again be manipulated by a serial killer . Love how far Phoenix and Zach have come since Sinners Atone and I can’t wait for Emmalines book.

So thankful...
So glad to read a VFM book again, it feels like awhile that I've read a dark VFM book, but this wasn't as dark as I hoped, but i do hope there is a part 2 to at least 1 of the characters in this book, I love the connectivity to other characters from the other books, so if you haven't picked up a book from this author, go on have a try
