The quality.
I just had to do a review on these fly London boots. I’m a big fan of fly London footwear. My calf measures 14 1/2 inches so don’t have large calf's.These come up small tight around the leg, I take a size 5 and foot wise they are perfect. I just about got the zip up but once up they felt okay. Decided to keep them , with wear they will give…. After only a few wears they have loosened up and are so comfortable and stylish, look great with skirts.By the way I do wear with thick tight with them. . Excellent quality.

Fine for bigger calves.
I don't usually review products but am so pleased with my boots that I wanted to reassure other ladies with bigger calves that these boots would be suitable for them. I deliberated for some time before buying as I am a size 14 with 'dog-walking' calves measuring 15.5" at their widest point. The boots fall between a calf and knee high boot and therefore have a bit of give around the widest part of my calf. The buckle part is elasticated and can be let out to the 3rd hole which is where I wear them. Admittedly, I can only wear these with tights and a skirt or dress but this is what I bought them for as I prefer a chunkier boot with skinny jeans. It was a squeeze to get the zip done up at first but the boots were still comfortable as the leather is so soft, and since then, the leather has given considerably with wear and I have worn them all day at work several times now with no comfort issues. Also,a big bonus is that the sleek fit and the elongating effect on the leg due to the not quite knee height length is very flattering. I have not yet tested these in wet weather but do not expect them to be totally waterproof as with any other normal boot, and may treat them with a proofing spray. The only downside was the smell of the wax which had a definite hint of the farmyard as mentioned by another reviewer. This was quite strong at first but has worn off and hasn't put me off buying another pair in black to cover all eventualities.

Perfect go to boots for me
Love these boots and buy a pair every year - mainly because I wear out zips at ankles and soles quite quickly but usefully can get replaced if required at local cobblers. I repair my older pair and keep new ones for smarter occasions. If you look after with polish helps keep leather waterproof .Love that can wear straight out of box and leather soft enough so no blisters .Size at European 40 perfect for a UK 6.5These arrived on time in good condition.

great design of heel
Bought as present, good fit, good looking leather boots to wear on many occasions. Due to the design of the heel it feels like walking on flat heels.

Nice looking boots
I read a number of reviews saying these boots fit way to tight, so I ordered a size 5, I'm usually a 4 - 4.5. They were not too tight at all, in fact they were a bit big so not sure if folks are convincing themselves their feet are smaller than they are but these boot are not small fitting in the foot. Around the calf is another story, I measured my calves, which are 33cm, these boots only just zipped up with the buckle on the loosest fastening, anyone who doesn't have slim legs will not get these on. Nice quality boots for the £90 price tag. Not sure about warmth as they haven't seen a winter yet. seem fairly comfortable but think they need to settle in.

Lovely boots but too narrow to do up zip.
I am so disappointed at having to return these boots. They are beautiful and I was so happy when I opened the box, but when I tried to do up the zip it was impossible. I don't usually have any trouble zipping up knee length boots, but these are very narrow on the calves. If you have very slim calves then I would recommend them but otherwise I wouldn't.

Comfy and easy to wear
I ordered these with some degree of trepidation - I do not have slim or delicate calves - 15" to be precise. Were they going to do up? The answer is yes - ok I had to adjust the buckle but they do up just and after one wearing they are already giving and much easier to put on.I read all the reviews before ordering so to answer some common concerns - yes the ankle area is relatively narrow and they are not the easiest to get on initially, but they do give. I would say they are true to size but not overly wide. As I have fairly standard to narrowish feet and narrow ankles I did not have to size up but if you have wide feet you might need to.They do mark but they are waxy leather so that's inevitable. A waxy leather cream will sort out marks and scuffs and keep them looking great. As for grip - they aren't particularly slippy but not overly grippy either. I walked over one of the metal cellar hatches that abound in my area and could feel that I didn't have much grip but it isn't as though I fell over. I am not sure I would test them in the icy conditions though. They are very comfy to walk in and quite supportive, which is important for me as I have very little natural padding on the soles of my feet and end up with callouses and corns if I don't wear the right shoes, these fit the bill nicely. Can't say I have tested them in rain but mine came with a label saying that they were much as any other footwear - moderately waterproof. I may use a waterproof wax leather dressing on them just to keep my feet dry.I got the dark brown which are a great true dark brown which is versatile. They are just about smart enough for work (which is great for me as I can't wear heels for any length of time) and can be casual too.Overall I am pleased with my purchase and the price I paid through Amazon. Not a cheap pair of boots so I expect them to last. But then again they weren't hugely expensive at Amazon's price either, go probably very good value for money.

Incredibly tight on the calf
I’ve owned many pairs of fly boots. These were impossible to zip up, despite having slim legs. The leather is also incredibly stiff and it was nit easy to get my foot into the boot. Will regrettably be sending these back for a refund.
