Advertised Drive Performance is Understated
The 128GB Possibox USA Flash Drive exceeded its stated performance capabilities. Advertised at 120mbs read and 60mbs read/write speeds, I actually experienced average read speeds of 184mbs and write speeds of 172mbs using CrystalDiskMark’s disk performance test software. The 128GB drive was exFat formatted leaving 117GB of usable storage space, a good capacity for photo and video file archiving. I found the Possibox thumb drive to be accessible using both Linux Mint and Windows 11 on my dual-boot computer. The drive’s outer case is made of durable materials that are covered in a rubberized outer material. The covering protects the drive from cracking if dropped or bouncing on a hard floor into an inaccessible hiding place under a piece of furniture. The rubber also makes it water-resistant and comfortable to hold.Despite its remarkable performance, the flash drive does have two cons in my opinion. The first is that its removable USB connector protective cap is portable. I usually am not in favor of these as they are frequently lost in my house. The second con is the drive’s lack of a drive-use light to confirm that it’s being accessed. Not knowing, leaves me wondering if my access commands were accepted without the need to load file explorer or its Linux equivalent to double-check.Possibox is not a widely known flash drive brand and its drive failure rate history is unknown, but the fact that this drive’s performance exceeded advertised claims speaks well for the company and leads me to think that its potential longevity has similarly been understated.

It makes for a pretty good flash
It does make for a pretty good flash drive. I am able to store a lot of things on it. It’s nice being able to have a larger size flash drive so you don’t have to get the bigger, bulkier hard drives to store as much. I don’t know if it’s waterproof because I haven’t tried that. But as far as the what it’s meant to be used for it works really good. And I like the case that it comes in.

Rubbery, fast, 128GB drive.
The drive casing is all rubber. It flexes a little and with the cap on, which fits snugly, it would probably survive a somewhat long submersion in water. But I also wonder about the heat transfer property of rubber, and how it would perform with constant I/O over time. But for what this drive is, maybe the added water protection from rubber is needed over the typical plastic caps in certain use-cases.128GB is not the largest drive currently made, but is still a rather respectable capacity for a USB drive. And the speed is really good…183MB/s read on my testing. The tin case is a nice touch.I am a proud American (resoundingly yes, we have many big problems that seem to be getting worse…but I’ll believe in, and fight for, our founding principles to my death…I suppose that I’ve pledged that a few times now, but the sentiment may as well be cast in steel.). All of that declared, I don’t care if my USB drive reflects it, so the USA form factor really has no additional appeal, and certainly no disdain, to me. But it makes the drive glaringly easy to identify among my others though….and well, why the h**l not?!

Useless, errors, stops working and disappears
Looks and feels nice, but that is all this drive has going for it. Completely unreliable garbage. On its very first use it suddenly disappeared from the computer mid-copy and now it's pretty much useless. When I plug it in the computer immediately detects errors and everything I've tried to fix the issues have ended in failure. Formatting it does not help and data that was previously copied to it goes missing. This drive simply does not work.

Good flash drive...
Works fine. Haven't had it long enough to know whether it will hold up to time, but I installed a Linux OS on it, so now I can plug it into another computer and instantly have all my stuff where ever I go. Would I recommend it? Idk... I am not a fan of the price. I feel it would be better for about $20. It's not exactly small and kinda flashy with the colors and "USA" on it, but it if you're looking for one, it may be the one to go with. It's a matter of preference I suppose.
