Everyone has a price, and Ray Donovan is about to fi nd out his in all 12 episodes from the exhilarating third season. Without a mentor or a family to lean on, Ray (Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Liev Schreiber) has never been more determined to do his own thing. But when he gets caught in a dangerous struggle between a billionaire (guest star Ian McShane) and his provocative daughter (guest star Katie Holmes), Ray soon discovers that Hollywood families play by their own sets of rules. And with the Donovans branching out into new businesses, there’s never been a better time for Ray to rebuild his empire. Co-starring Golden Globe winner Jon Voight, it’s more of the riveting drama where true power is all about who you know…and who you hire.Special Features: New Characters • Los Angeles: The Third Character • Lucha Love Story • Blood and Bruises

Jon Voight deserves an Oscar
This show is very violent, but the acting is superb. Jon Voight is so right for this role that it doesn't look like acting (which for an actor is the highest form of praise). In fact, they all act as though their characters have no choice but to be the way they are, even when the script goes of in strange directions: the immoral/amoral father who has only known a life of crime, who has a caring side and who, despite his wickedness, seems somehow innocently charming, who acts on impulse and gets everything wrong; the sons who slide seemingly inevitably into violence because of their upbringing. For that reason, I will be going on watching it. One quibble with Series 3 - the "f" word may be in common use in real life, but too much of it on screen is simply distracting - does Ian McShane have it in his contract that everyone has to say f*** a certain number of times in each episode (see Hell on Wheels, which I stopped watching when it started to get silly)? The star came off because the storyline isn't completely believable and because of the irritating language.

IT PLAYS ON REGION 2 DEVICES AND IS AWESOMELY GOOD
As an Aussie ( PAL- region 4 ) import this does work perfectly on European DVD players and computers set to European encryptions. If you liked seasons 1 & 2 fear not as this is, if anything, even better as the brothers manage to stay together against incredible odds, with Mickey ( Jon Voight ) their father adding to the pressure by continuing to screw everything up for everyone with his self centered schemes. What he does is almost unbelievably crass, but you can believe it as sad old lags like him can't stop themselves from doing the stupidest things and really do exist. Ian Mc Shane appears as the new 'Mr Big' in the stories, with all the power to wield. I must admit that his acting ability goes up astronomically in my opinion here. Ray reluctantly ends up being cornered into being his property in a deal that had to be made in order to save one of his brothers from certain death at the hands of a prison gang he was incarcerated amongst. Anyway, it twists and writhes it's way along from incident to incident, with spot-on acting by the entire cast of characters, to keep you enthralled. A fantastic DVD to be savoured in 12 instalments. There is nothing sweet here.Eamonn

There's Something About Ray
I found S3 of Ray Donovan more subdued than previous seasons, it dug a little deeper into the Donovan family and everyone seemed more worn down than before. Everyone accept Mick who was his usual chancer self and still one step ahead of everyone else. I liked the introduction of the Finney family mainly because I adore Ian McShane, who came very close to donning a camel coat on a couple of occasions. As well as Ian McShane there were appearance from Fairuza Balk, Hank Azaria, Leland Orser, Cheryl Ladd, all people I have loved in other dramas. All in all we really enjoyed this season, we watched over a couple of nights, am looking forward to season 4 please Amazon Prime!

Intriguing, engrossing, compelling and memorable television
There are a couple of eyebrow-raising sidesteps in the various plotlines that jar and Abby's every other word is the f-word is plausible dialogue for her, but tiresome for the rest of us. You might also find the absence of a single likeable character a little odd, although the fact explains the long, long list of everyone else's self-inflicted (and well deserved) crises that finally leave Ray at the end of his own considerable limits. So few faults and otherwise intriguing, engrossing, compelling and memorable television.

Ray Donovan
Big fan of Ray Donovan, loved the first two seasons but this season wasn't as good for me. The storylines didn't seem as strong, I mean it's still good and got better in the later episodes but it just seemed that way to me at times. Still better than most things on TV though

Edge of your seat for 1 and 2 - can't wait for 3 to be released on amazon prime!
Only watched the trailer for season 3 so far. One and two were both fantastic, edge of the seat viewing - the kind of show where you tell yourself that you're only going to watch one more episode and then suddenly it's 2am and you've got to go to work in 3 hrs!! Can't wait to see season 3 when it's released on amazon prime!
