Q: Is the warranty global?

Warranties are specific to the country you purchase your iron from.

Q: What are the temperature settings - high, low and settings in between?

There are 2 settings- you can also use the extra sole plate to reduce the the temperature for a very delicate fabric. I am mostly ironing quilting cotton so use the highest setting.

Q: Can the base be sat on a table when in use?

I would think so, but I’ve only used mine on the floor. I am considering getting the Laurastar prestige ironing board which will hold the plus system.
