Good bag for hands free
I was disappointed because one of the shoulder straps ripped the first time I put the backpack on

Well-made "suitcase" bag
I'll start my analysis by explaining the values in which backpacks are categorized, and I'll use this one as an example. Okay, this is a 35L backpack. (The "L" means liters and they're also measured in 10cm x 10cm x 10cm cubes, so one liter is equivalent to one cubic decimeter). Who regulates that? The airlines do, and they use two types: 24L and 35L. The latter is the most commonly used because it's designed to fit under the passenger seat on the plane, making it approved to carry on board and considered free of charge for checked luggage. Now, let me talk about the characteristics of this interesting bag. It's worth noting that it's actually a suitcase, but I agree that it can be called whatever suits your needs. Going back to the fact that it's a suitcase, one of its main features is that it's approved by the airlines. Another feature is that you can carry it like a backpack instead of dragging it around. It also has both horizontal and vertical handles, making it easy to maneuver in any direction. Its square shape allows you to fold your clothes more neatly, avoiding the curves of typical backpacks. Additionally, it has a zipper that allows it to expand almost double its original size, while still maintaining its 35L capacity. It's up to you to decide whether you're interested in this interesting suitcase. As a final comment, I'll tell you that the airlines allow another designation, which is 24L, but you already thought of that - it's 9 liters less capacity. (Thanks for reading this far!)

The fine edge between personal item and carryon
This makes a great carryon item for a short trip where you're flying to the destination, as it's light to begin with, yet is well designed to hold a decent amount of clothes and such for a few days on a trip without getting too large. It also seems to be close to the edge on being a personal item (for those airlines that charge for everything and force you to drop something in a box to see if you get to pay extra, and they get to collect a 'bounty' for making you pay). I haven't tested this directly, but it seems like it might be hit or miss given the strap location, but technically it SHOULD be possible to fit in the personal item box if you haven't overpacked it and tighten down the cinch straps.Overall, it's really more of a small suitcase with carry straps than a convenient comfortable backpack, but with a light weight that makes carrying it more convenient.Weigh your needs well and whether a wheeled carry-on might work better, or if you're going so light you try the personal item route. For me, it's pretty rare when this would work better than a compact roller bag or a smaller backpack for a personal item, but it DOES have a place in my travelling arsenal of bag options.

Spacious, Waterproof, Sturdy, Great Quality
The backpack is very well constructed with a strong and durable exterior. I feel confident that my belongings are safe and secure when I'm carrying the backpack. I especially appreciate the USB charging port, as it makes it easy to charge my devices while on the go.The backpack is also spacious, with plenty of room for all of my belongings. I've been able to fit my laptop, a few textbooks, a few notebooks, and other supplies in the backpack with no problem.

Cheap material - DO NOT BUY
I bought this bag about 2 months, and both straps have already popped, and the side of the bag has ripped open. I’ve own many of bags in my past and none has done this so quickly after purchase. I now know why the return window was only 30 days.

This bag impressed me with how light it is.
The exterior of the bag is a synthetic material that years ago I would have described as vinyl. The material doesn't feel thick or heavy. Since I will be using this as an overnight or carry on for flights, I will be handling it more carefully and I expect it will hold up well for that purpose. There are several zippered compartments and an expansion zipper. I have thought about adding something to the zipper pulls to help me identify which compartment I'm opening. The main compartment is very shallow with the expansion zipper closed, maybe 2 to 3 inches. With the expansion open the compartment is more like 5 to 6 inches deep. The main compartment zips from front to back so it will flip completely open to use.The compartment at the back of the bag has a zipper that opens from the top and goes about half way down the sides. There is a pocket with a flip down tab with velcro to hold a laptop. This compartment also has the charging wire that can be accessed from the outside of the bag. There is also some space in front of the laptop pocket. The compartment at the front also opens from the top to partially down the sides. This is a narrow compartment. There are 2 openings on the face of the backpack for items you might want to access during the trip.I wanted this backpack for flights because I normally travel with my disabled mother and trying to manage her wheeled carry on with my wheeled carry on is pretty tricky when trying to board. I figure if I wear the backpack it will help me with this. Plus it will be easier to manage when we claim our checked bags. I also see this as an advantage if I'm not with someone that needs extra help. The weight of this bag is so much lighter than my older carry ons. I anticipate I can pack up plenty of the things I will need, if my check bags are delayed in reaching me. (This hardly ever happens, but it can be a problem.)Since I'm not a regular backpacker I'm sure I will have an issue with something but I don't anticipate the bag will be the problem.I am looking forward to giving this a try.
