Homecoming

This novel captured me from the very first words that I read. It's story is spun in such a descript way that the words keep you wanting more. I really enjoyed this novel.

What a great story. Totally give a person impetus to have a chat with loved ones. Could not put this book down OR if I did I thought about it all the time - wondering what is next and how are the characters going to deal with each event. Superb writing - you feel like you know the characters personally.

About halfway through this book it felt like the story was nearly complete, but it had hardly started. It got deeper and deeper. And without ruining all the twists and the ending, I can’t say much more except this is one of the best books I have ever read and the ending was not trite but very satisfying and I felt just a great sense of completeness. I would recommend it to anyone; it would appeal to many different readers. Thank you Kate.

Una trama originale che si dipana tra luoghi ed epoche diverse e lontane, una storia che coinvolge e commuove, i cui personaggi toccano ognuno a suo modo il cuore del lettore sino ad arrivare al finale inaspettato ,una scrittura estremamente curata e piacevole per un romanzo che vale la lettura.

I didn't enjoy this book as much as some of this author's work, perhaps because I sussed out where the plot was heading very early and thus felt that the action dragged. Nevertheless, it's a very compelling story that addresses the ways we think about 'home & family'. Especially lovely descriptive text about the landscapes.
