A good read
This book is a very easy and good read. Before I knew it I was halfway through the book. The personal stories really held my attention.

Fair.
I'd say several of these were nowhere near real, but they were all fun to read and fairly entertaining. Not bad for passing time.

True Ghost Stories
These true ghost stories are from the UK, but they could happen anywhere. These stories take place in houses, cemeteries, on the road -- all around the town. They may not be especially frightening, but they do let you know you're not alone. You may remember a similiar experience after you read some of these stories. I recommend 50 Real Ghost Stories for those who love the paranormal.

Interesting, but not spooky.
It was alright. Some of the stories are really good, but a lot of them are only about 2 pages long. Very short. And they aren't too riveting or spooky. If you are the kind of person who is spooked very easily, this could be the book for you. If you are an avid believer in the supernatural or are just looking to read a few stories at night before bed to give yourself a riveting scare, I wouldn't get this one. Yes the stories are interesting, and I can relate to a few of them, but none really have much pizazz or fright to them.

A bit boring.
I find that the ghost books are pretty much all the same. I just don't believe some of the stories but at the end of the day some of them can be so far fetched and stupid that I don't think I will be bothered anymore. Get it if you like this stuff over and over.

The invisible truth...
I have amassed a considerable library of the paranormal and the occult over the past 35 years and I have to say this small book is among my favourites. I read it in an hour then read it all again. I love the fact that that Mr Wayland keeps a respectable distance and let's the stories speak for themselves. . the stories are eyewitness accounts and there are no attempts to sensationalize or convince the reader. Five stories stand out for me and one in particular managed to stir up one of my own experiences as a child .. 'The nightmare lady'... along with ' Another road ghost ' , 'The ghost car' and the utterly chilling 'The Russian ghost ' and finally the poignant 'The mystery lady'. I'm just about to tuck into the 2nd volume... I'll let you know my thoughts on that when I open the curtains tomorrow. ... highly recommended.

really enjoyed this!
Individual stories from the people who have actually experienced an event, rather than an author “telling their tales” which somehow feels more real to me. Really enjoyed it and bought book 2 before finishing book 1! More please!

I don't believe in ghosts!
I have to say, right from the offset, that I, 100%, don't believe in ghosts, but I bought this book thinking there might be some interesting stories to while away a happy hour or two. Oops! My mistake. They are just anecdotes from people that have been outside on a dark and misty night and have happened to see some weird stuff that, spookily enough, nobody else has noticed. Trite trash! To make matters worse, the author has put the stories in the original words of the protagonist, complete with grammatical errors and spelling mistakes, to give them "authenticity." I just found it annoying.

Lazy Writing
I bought this book expecting a well written collection of tales judging by the other reviews. What I got was a mish mash of half stories (some no more than a handful of paragraphs) which may or may not be true. They varied from the dull to the fantastical, long clawed skull figure with glowing eyes in a monks habit????? Somebody's been playing too much D&D. No background and no depth. I definately will NOT be buying the second book.

Ghosts
I bought this one with volume 2. Great stories and a great additional to my collection. Short stories that you will find fascinating. Worth buying if you don't have it or for a gift to someone interested in ghosts.
