Battery Replacement for MacBook Pro A1708(2016,2017) A2159(2019) A2289(2020) A2338(2020,2022) 13-inch A2171/A1713 Battery

This is my 2nd MacBook/MacBook Pro battery replacement purchase from Asmark. I really like their kits which included everything required to replace the batteries (except for the acetone or alcohol, which could not be shipped but easily available).I'm comfortable opening up my electronics for fun & basic repairs, but certainly not a "pro".The instructions were very clear & concise with each step of the way shown on the well illustrated instruction manual.The Macs booted up right away, and after using them for 2-4 weeks now, they charge up very nicely, and we really appreciate that the Mac now have "like new" battery function.Will definitely buy their replacement batteries again in the future!

If you have the guts it worked great. Came with clear directions. The only thing missing is glue remover. They should consider putting a little bottle in the kit. I watched a Youtube video before deciding to tackle this project. It was clear you need to use glue remover. Their instruction sheet even has using glue remover as part of the directions. Ordered my own separate little bottle. You don't need a lot, but you need some. Definitely search YouTube and follow any instructional video, better than just following the printed directions. The hardest part is unhooking the power plug, and then plugging the new battery back in. Definitely a little tricky. Certainly easier if you've ever done any kind of computer repairs before.

Naught this about a month ago and installed it on my computer. Once it was installed, my laptop finally started to work as it should. But 2 weeks into having it installed I left my laptop charging overnight and when I woke up to and tried to turn it on to check my emails for work, the laptop didn’t turn on anymore! No response or anything! I sent it to get it checked and they told me the battery wasn’t functioning anymore and needed to be replaced! Honestly the worst investment ever! Be warned! Don’t buy this! It will give up on you as it did for me!

Battery was packaged and delivered beautifully! Had all the tools needed and very organized. The battery swap process was tedious but simple enough with the instructions, took me about 1 hour to complete. The price value is great for what it is versus getting it repaired.However the two stars are because I was able to install and charge the battery to full capacity but within 24 hours of leaving my computer on a charger. My battery has not been able to hold a charge nor take one. As of now my computer won’t turn on. I’ve tried swapping cables and blocks to see if it was a charger issue but unfortunately not.**UPDATE** Spoke directly to the company, they got back to me very quickly and helped me troubleshoot my battery. It's working like it should and charging again. Very pleased with how well they handled me and the information given on their product!

Nice kit with the tools you will need to do the job. Great link to a video that leads you through the procedure. However, the part about adding rubbing alcohol to soften the adhesive under the existing battery seemed like there would be no chance of that working so I used a thin narrow blade metal putty knife suggested in another You Tube video and that worked well. The wide blade plastic tools in the kit would require too much force in my opinion to push through the adhesive strips under the old battery. You need to cut through small sections at a time, so the thin blade narrow putty tool I had worked great, and no alcohol needed.Also, remember that the new battery comes nearly fully charged and will have voltage on two of the terminals that can deliver a lot of power if shorted. Pay attention to the sequence of removing the cables from the old battery shown in the video and then the sequence of attaching the cables from the new battery.There is one cable that has a metal bracket that goes over the cable and is held by two screws. That bracket shifted on me while I was attaching one of the screws and touched something that caused a spark. Nothing was damaged and the laptop powered up ok, but I was attaching the cables out of order from the video so this maybe why there was power on this cable.

I have been using this battery for some time now and just going back to review it. It was quite fun and satisfying installing it. The instructions were great. Everything went together perfectly. The screws are very small.Everything went well. But the battery gets very hot and drains the battery quickly. This started happening right away and does months later. There is no particular time when it happens. Sometimes when not in use, sometimes when charging and often when it is in my brief case or when in use. And it really gets very hot. Occasionally it works like it should. But it needs constant charging.Just back to let everyone know that ASMARK, the seller, is fantastic. One day after writing this review, they replied to me and gave me refund for the full amount. And it was about 6 months ago! I have never seen anything like it.The battery was faulty but the company is fantastic. Thank You!

Overall, this is a solid battery. It came with all the right tools and accessories needed for the install and the directions were relatively clear. Now that I’ve been using it for a while, I’ll note that the battery life is no where near what the old Mac battery is, but that’s kind of expected for a third party. I get around 4 hours from a full change, which sucks, BUT this battery gets a star back, because it charges up really quick.
