This dress is designed for a pear shape. It also had a huge 5" difference between size 18 and 20 which meant complete alterations if I wanted to keep it. The material was soft and comfortable and it was the perfect color for the wedding. I have an hourglass shape and ended up having to take the dress in 8" in the hips, 3" for the bust, and 4" for the waist. I'm also 5'3" so I had to cut about 7" off the bottom so it wouldn't drag on the floor. Now that I've made all these alterations I intend to wear this dress frequently for fancy-dress events.

I liked everything about the dress, but felt it ran too big.

I purchased this dress to wear to my daughter's wedding and intended to wear it for several more functions. After wearing ONCE, I took it to my regular dry cleaners as per the instructions. During the cleaning, the glue that held the sequins on the bodice disintegrated and the sequins all fell off of the dress! Additionally, the glue drops stained the dress with black spots. I recommend that you DO NOT buy this dress unless you intend to wear it ONCE and throw it out!!!!UPDATE: While the quality of the dress was substandard, I update my review to three stars. Amazon stood by their product and allowed me to return the damaged item for some credit. Kudos to Amazon!

I am really quite surprised by the quality of this dress. I love how generous the lace sleeves are. It has a nice flow! The fabric is a nice quality and the sequined lace provides an elegant touch. I will be proud to wear this at my sons wedding. It is bigger in the shoulders than I am used to. I have broad, thick shoulders and there is plenty of room. The only bad thing is that it is supposed to be tea length, but it is VERY long. I will certainly need about 6 inches taken off. I won’t diminish my rating though...it’s a beautiful dress.

Lovely dress! Flows nicely as your body moves. The deep purple was perfect for an early fall wedding I recently attended. After sunset when all the candles were sparkling, my dress glittered just a bit with the pretty bodice this dress has. Unfortunately, I didn’t fit in either size 18 or 20, so I ended up having the size 20 altered smaller. I’m 5'8" tall and wore 3" heels so I needed to hem the dress to get it up off the ground. I would definitely recommend getting this dress for any formal occasion.
