Like an arm extension
Someone asked me why I was carrying a plastic sword with me while climbing Mount Snowdon. The answer is BECAUSE ONCE YOU'VE BOUGHT THIS SWORD YOU WILL NEVER LET IT LEAVE YOUR SIDE AGAIN. A good swordsmaster will tell you their sword is basically an extension of their arm. You wouldn't just leave your arms lying about would you?
