Useful in parts, but confusing
I bought this book to help me better my american english. It is useful in parts, but some of the UK - US phrase translations are not exactly correct and some are just plain old fashioned. Mind you, the book is marketed at a reasonable prices, so I'm not too worried. The US- UK part of the book is better than the UK-US though. Still worth having in my library

Poor value
Not the most helpful guide to American/British use of language.

Burglararize
When I saw the word 'burglarize' in a work of fiction I knew that I had to have a UK to USA dictionary. I could not believe it but there it was in this pocket-sized book of 158 pages, and the equivalent English 'burgle'. I have no doubt that as this is not a heavy tome of a book there will be many words in it that are not includeed but at least I have a smattering of the differences and in addition I can baffle my friends with 12 pages of rhyming slang. What a Captain Cook (Book)!

Thought it would be funnier
Book is smaller than expected. Don't know about American. Thin it is written by an American so some English phrases and explanations are not correct or curretnly used. Thought it would be funny but it's not, it is just what it says it is, straight translations. Good 'stocking filler' type present but nothing to get excited about.

Funny
Funny product. Sent it to a friend in the US who thought "cheers" was being used in a derogatory way when I used it as a term for "thank you".

Handy little book and have had lot of fun looking up words and the meanings
Handy little book and have had lot of fun looking up words and the meanings. However when talking to an American friend and asking him about some words he wasn't familiar with them so not sure if some words only used in some parts of America. But still good value
